So, what do we think Ricciardo's game plan will be for tomorrow?
Vet and Ham will fancy this now since Ric is without a wingman.
I don't fancy Ricciardo's job tomorrow if he manages to keep the lead out of the first corner.
However, Merc weren't sure of the hypers in Q2 and I think I saw the deg on Ferrari was a bit high too.
If it were me, I'd just go hell for leather at the start of the race, wait for the Ferrari/Merc tyres to drop off and cover them when they pit. Easier said than done.
While I would be very happy for DR to win, I think the result will be a lottery.Vet and Ham will fancy this now since Ric is without a wingman.

Anyone two-stopping will get buried while the second half of the grid could be greatly advantaged by starting on the right tyres to one-stop. Throw in the risk of an SC and it could become one of the few races not won from the top three.

I agree. Anything could happen. Anyone two-stopping will get buried while the second half of the grid could be greatly advantaged by starting on the right tyres to one-stop. Throw in the risk of an SC and it could become one of the few races not won from the top three.

I think it's going to be carnage on the first corner or so. Or, at least, breathtakingly exciting.
They say you can't win a race on the first corner, but you can certainly lose it. But Monaco is arguably the exception to that.
I expect Max will feel the need to make up seven places going into Saint Devote, and it will all go horribly wrong. Although I'm rather hoping he leaves it until Lap 3 (my PH sweepstakes pick). They say you can't win a race on the first corner, but you can certainly lose it. How much is Danny going to enjoy lapping Max today? Quite a lot I'd imagine.
Furthermore, being awkward to lap might be the only way they can utilise Max to support DR's race.suffolk009 said:

Leaders all switch to decent tyres at the end of lap 1 and then follow each other for the rest of the race.

I think that this scenario has the potential to turn the race into a snoozefest.

Agreed. Despite Monaco always being on my 'try to watch live' list (Spa and Canada being the others) I fear I may be disappointed. Leaders all switch to decent tyres at the end of lap 1 and then follow each other for the rest of the race.
