I think they moved it to avoid a temporal clash with the England world cup game on Sunday afternoon.

Good to see the French GP back.
I'm surprised to see French GP back. Apart from this and Magny (and Le Mans obviously that's not F1) they haven't got any exciting tracks.

Don't know the politics but I believe it's owned by one of Bernie's companies.

It's owned by Bernie Ecclestones family trust. Not sure who is actually renting the track for the event though. Probably the local government.

What time does it start? Must be later for the USA tv audience?
16.10 local time, no idea why the late start.

It's owned by one of Bernie's companies, but it's rented by a third party who are promoting the race with funding from the local Provincial and Departmental governments.

There is an England game that kicks off at 1pm, so as said previously, possibly to avoid a clash.

Lol, that Joe fella is kind of special. Someone made a comment on how financially stupid these deals for regions and Joe ridiculed him and then replied "it makes sense to me" to a comment that stated that they are happy that French GP are back regardless of financials. That's the spirit.

And then some. He has a terrible attitude when people are not agreeing with him.

hehe

I find your recent posts on here amusing, there's no way you only joined up a couple of months ago-who did you used to be?

Good detective work, I used to be Sam996 but it ended up like it usually does with that crap so I went back to the roots, i.e. 993.

PS how do you link sense of humour with how long someone posts? Where's the correlation?
PSS you're not upset that I don't necessarily agree with your views on Rolex, are you? It'd be silly if you were. It be like a childish personal vendetta.

Not at all!

When you've been of these parts for so long you can tell new posters from old, you don't post like this is your first rodeo wink Hence it isn't. But after a number of years of posting a certain humour does shine through-it might be because of getting jaded with the usual crap posted on here.

No vendetta about watches however, far from it-I'd love to be able to get everything I know about their business into the minds of others. Like Porsche, the company utterly fascinates me (both their good and bad sides).

I'm not new to the internet in general and perhaps am feeling younger than I am, hence the style. hehe

Everything is late this weekend. First practice doesn't start until 11am no idea why.

Ive very little hope for a good race this weekend, having seen plenty of races at Paul Ricard
