Gearbox failure for Sainz. Two DNFs from two. Failures are 50:50 Renault : Mclaren.
They had some pace but they always build a half decent Bahrain car. It’s their financial home and it’s at the beginning of the season before the development race takes hold.

Brilliant overtake by Lando yesterday missed by live TV. Lots of passing from him to move back up the field and held off Kimi for a number of laps at the end. Great to have another brit to watch out for IMHO

I can’t decide if that was brilliant or sheer luck?! Not to mention track limits https://youtu.be/Ri7zIjZIEOY
NOR comes across fantastically in the press however, really nice kid. I just hope he isn’t bumped for ALO if he deigns the team worthy of his presence.

Nothing wrong with that under FIA track limits. Would be illegal in the UK though.NOR comes across fantastically in the press however, really nice kid. I just hope he isn’t bumped for ALO if he deigns the team worthy of his presence.
I'm glad that the "rich kid hating" brigade haven't started on Lando. He is a definite talent who hopefully will be around for a long time.

Lucky maybe, instictive definately. A lot of them were pushing the boundaries on that corner all race.I'm glad that the "rich kid hating" brigade haven't started on Lando. He is a definite talent who hopefully will be around for a long time.
found myself looking further down the running order for a change to see how the other brits are doing whereas previously would be looking at the top of the leaderboard.

Joking aside, I think the new guys (Russell and Norris) hold themselves very well. Not arrogant, positive, a bit like Anthony Joshua really. So very different from Hamilton, and that's only a good thing.

here was such a person; sadly, he died in June 1970.
Oh come on!Bruce was a great character, like Hill and Stewart, he was a great driver, but in all fairness, it was Ron who created the modern McLaren. Sadly the world moved on and it now needs someone with even bigger shoes to move them forward in the future.
It’s not just Middle East money, a grasp of succeeding in every aspect is what is now needed. Realising past failings is important, so I now believe that the team can a see a pathway back to the top.
Sadly, playing second fiddle to works teams puts them at a huge disadvantage. Post 2021, I believe they could make it back to the top.
But any success will not belong to Bruce.
