I'm still here! yes it has been a bit quieter over the past few months. Plus peeps are out and about in their cars or on holicay and it's post BBWF which is usually a bit quieter.

What rules are you referring to John? I haven't seen anything recently apart from "GDPR"?

Still here too, currently holidaying in Much Cursing in the Garage. Intended to change a rear hub bearing, but fell at the first hurdle by snapping off the bolt that links the hub carrier, shock absorber and wishbone.
Next stop, Hacksawsville.
Unless anyone has a cunning plan?

Well, thanks for the suggestion, but that's not something I'm currently considering - I love that 'origami' look! wink

As said, post BBWF....always quiet, hopefully people just busy enjoying the cars.
That said, most guys moved to fb due to freedoms... such as being able to name and shame awful service from suppliers etc. also freedom to move on cheap 'low or no' profit parts/spares to help out fellow owners.

Haymarket killing the forum slowly - and alienating the people who do still contribute. Unfortunately a matter of time until I jump ship too, which is a shame as once upon a time it was thriving.

I'm still here, check the forum daily and comment when I think I can help but I do tend to lurk more on the Facebook forum which is slightly easier to access and to be honest less likely to be sniped by certain opinionated keyboard warriors. Also Facebook is so much easier for posting photographs without the small PH size limit which means I need to reformat size wise on any images before I post to PH.

Just changed the rear A frame bushes on the 350i. The bolts were seized solid so used a reciprocating hacksaw to cut the bolts to separate the frame and hub and then gentle heat and big hammer to get the broken bits of bolt out. Took 12 hours in total to change a few bushes. A total pain in the arse.

Now would be the time to change the bushes and the bolts...all four!..The bolt should have some rotational movement...if its seized then thats why its snapped..better now then on the road...yikes

MMM, I seems there is a lot more interaction on the facebook page...
The Kawasaki Triples UK site (smelly motorcycles) has a similar situation, the club members pay for a proper members site where loads of historic tech details are available, yet now sees little regular posts.
The big prob with facebook is that tech/ maintenance jems are posted/discussed then lost in time.
I certainly appreciate the Pistonhead Wedge site for what it truely is, we need to use it or potentially loose it.
So I am going to post now..

Yep, use it or loose it.

I don't contribute very much these days, but do still float around.

I don't use Facebook though, isn't that just for finding out the wife (now ex) is having an affair? LOL
