I don't think he will make a full time comeback. He was meant to be at the race this weekend but he is not going to be there.
Is that confirmed somewhere? He doesn't have to announce his intention to travel officially, and he may simply be operating a (well advised) do whatever you want to do, when you feel up to it policy. Even if he makes his mind up the evening before race day. Whichever race day that is.No rush in my view, he'll probably just appear one day - with either little or no public notice.

Yes the team confirmed he will not be attending BCN.
I am sure he will do as he pleases!!
But being realistic I think full time travel is going to be too much for anyone his age who has such serious operation. Even with a private jet etc its a lot to travel to each GP.
That's a shame, I must have missed that from the team.I am sure he will do as he pleases!!

I also can't see him coming back full time, or even return to his former position in an effective, full time way - although if he did, it wouldn't be the first time he's made a very surprising return to the world of F1...
Whatever his condition or decision, I have no doubt we will see him back at some races in the future, and I expect it won't be that far off.

The Rat doesn't need luck to pull through.
Death hasnt got the balls to take him yet.
Keke might be bravest bloke to have driven 4 wheels, Lauda is the hardest though.
Hell of a fight he put up. Death hasnt got the balls to take him yet.

Headline news story on the BBC even after all these years. So it should be.
I always thought of Lauda as a Von Richthofen, Werner Moelders or Adolf Galland on wheels.
An outstanding gentleman.
There was a story about a visit to the site of Niki's crash a few years ago. A journalist (who Niki knew well) obtained a pig's ear from a local butcher. At the site he wandered off and rummaged in the undergrowth, returning and holding it aloft, he proudly proclaimed, "Hey Niki, I found your ear !"
