All this nonsense about "nobody wants him" needs to stop - the team he cost multi-millions took him back. He's still adored in Maranello. People need to read up on what really happened at Ferrari rolleyes it was a combination of poor advice/management and a pi$$-poor team leader at the time.
Thing is though there has to be something in it as otherwise he would not be leaving F1 and would be in a RB, Mercedes or Ferrari in 2019. He is that good that if there wasn't something else involved one of the top teams would find a way to put him in their car. Sorry, but that's the truth.

To be honest, I really don't see this attitude Alonso is a driving god, if he was, why has no other team offered him a drive? He has made some very poor choices outside of the car.

Besides he is a grumpy fker with his head stuck firmly up his own arse every time I have seen him.

It's not the truth though, is it?

Red Bull have their young drivers programme. Despite that Alonso himself said he doesn't think they'll be competitive next year.

After all that happened between Rosberg and Hamilton do you really think he'd let Alonso be his teammate? Only one driver can win the Driver's Championship so if he's given a competitive car Hamilton will do that. They also know that have a teammate who isn't any threat to Hamilton, will do as he is told but still scores decent points means they'll win the constructors title.

Alonso spent 5 years at Ferrari, a lot of it against the dominant Red Bull with Vettel. Despite his best efforts they didn't win a Championship, and they haven't since.

If I was stood in his shoes I would wonder of my press critics who are all these worthless deadbeats?
Worth remembering most of the current grid will never stand on the podium or win a race or a title in F1.
All teams have studied that mclaren mess years ago and have deduced that one top driver and a good 2nd driver is the way to go not 2 top drivers who will knock lumps out of each other instead of the opposition.
The only way I can see him back in F1 is if 5-6 teams are in with a chance of winning. Then
someone will come knocking.
He doesnt even need to be in from the start. Just a team aware their fantastic car is being driven by a couple of average drivers with zero points after the first few races.

Better all rounder ? Except in the desirability stakes. No one wants him. That trumps anything good he has to offer.
McLaren and his past teams would disagree on that, considering the results he brings to the table. wink He's the difference in McLaren being 8th-9th in the Constructors Championship and where they're currently at now - 6th.

Honda wanted and paid for him not Macca. They wanted to make a splash when returning to F1. Didn’t reality work out as he became their biggest critic ?

Nope. As already seen earlier this season, he was approached by Red Bull on multiple occasions, and turned them down, including once this year. How is that not wanting him? Merc and Ferrari have their No.1 drivers with multi-year contracts. So the choice for him is to either keep trundling at the mid-field, or go to bigger and better things.

Him being approached by Red Bull was strenuously denied by all at the team, but anyway my point stands..... he is a better driver than anyone else on the grid with the possible exception of Hamilton and yet he's on the way out of F1. That says it all.

As mentioned numerous times, his attitude cancels out his good driving. The result is clear for all to see. He’s going to division two and even there not everyone wants him.

I can't stand Alonso, the arguments for his seem to rotate around ignoring where he is, what has happened to him and taking the untold behind the scene stories as the most important information.

F1, the sport where 0.1 seconds costs £10M but nobody wants a -0.5 second per lap genius. laugh

Thank Christ for the hundreds of driver metrics that all teams record.

I think most spectators agree. The teams and sponsors are more wary.

I’d want to see Alonso in a competitive car again, but where would he go? None of the top 3 teams would touch him, they have their star drivers, so I’d rather see him in IndyCar showing us what he is capable of than stuck at McLaren or Haas.

Next year is important for Alonso. If he’s as good as he and fans say he is, then he should win the IndyCar title

If he gets a competitive car he could well do.... Mansell did and he's a better driver than our Nige as much as I admire him.
