Rob smedley this week - just finishing listening a very interesting listen!
I really enjoyed that; I'd love to hear other engineers interviewed. I know a few race engineers and they always have interesting stories to tell.
Yep, RS's episode is up there with the best.

Finished the Rob Smedley one earlier, brilliant, his retelling of the Massa accident (and indeed the last corner championship loss) was so passionate and open.

To my surprise I'm really enjoying the Horner one that I'm half way through now as well, some brilliant stories.

Montoya probably doesn't suit this type of interview that well, he is more get the job done at the time and move on, not much sentimentality. Worth it though for the comedic effect of a Colombian trying to pronounce ' Bournemouth',

Also seemed like JPM was on a facetime or skype call with TC for the podcast and not actually in the room with him, from the sounds of the audio and the delay with the answers, etc.

Still was a good interview and showed that he was more of a JV type of driver who just got in the car and drove the wheels off it rather then chase the set up to make it faster.

Good interview with Otmar Sznafauer this week, he's one of the few team principals who do actually seem to have time for the press. It'd be interesting to hear what his real thought on having Stroll in the car is but that won't happen for obvious reasons...

That said it sounds like Papa Stroll are serious about F1 and looking to invest in the team properly

Some of the interviews are conducted at track facilities - as was the JPM one at Abu Dhabi - so the audio & acoustics aren't great. The one with Emmo sounds poor with earphones.

I thought the the JPM interview was great. For instance he's got a lot of time and respect for Ralph Schumacher when its easy to say he was only in F1 because of his brother. However I don't think he's being true to the listener/public about why he left F1 and neither was Tom and shows how Tom is good interviewer by trying to coax convincing answers.

Really enjoyed the Otmar one, fascinating stories.

I do find it ironic that it's sponsored by Bose but the sound quality can be pretty shocking. I appreciate that these guys are going to be time limited so it's probably a case of as and when, but surely an office or quiet room is never far away, even in the paddock?

Would like them to do one with Damon Hill, as I would love to know his thoughts on the 1994 Benetton controversies? Especially as I'm writting a book on it; https://www.performancepublishing.co.uk/1994-the-u...

he's pretty candid about michael in his bio, not so much overtly slagging him off but recalls some pretty choice incidents that let you know exactly how he wants him remembered, such as when he (Damon) was leading Jordan's infamous 1-2 he told Eddie on the radio to tell Ralf to hold station rather than risk a collision, and michael came to him afterwards all "how dare you do that"laugh
