What do you think of the mock up?

Not sure about those wheels.

thanks for posting the photo, that site is unreadable due to scroll adverts and sponsored content. I know it isn't your fault but what a hideous excrement shower of a website that was!

Why what's wrong with them?

To be honest with you I don’t really care too much what they look like so long as they produce interesting races

interestingly that's concept 2 from the shot....so what does concept 1 look like and are there more that haven't leaked?

looks rather Formula E to me

nose shape is a constant curve....not sure on that,
nose itself and the wing supports are too big.

In general I think it needs toughening up a little at the front but its ok

Indeed. I think that the overall show needs more attention such as allowing the drivers to race without so many penalties applied for this that and the other. It has improved slightly I feel bit more needs to be done.

Looks rather like the concept cars from 1985/1995/2005/2015 etc etc etc

They never end up looking like what they are supposed to look like.

Indeed. It doesn't matter what the rule-maker wants them to look like, as they can't seem to write rules that the designers won't bend and twist and stick loads of ugly aero crap all over.

The wheels are coming in size at least (although I doubt the alloys will look like that...) - it's a good thing IMO. More relevant to road car technology, and also allows makes the suspension setup far more important than it is at present. Should hopefully add variance to the result of races, as teams try different setups.

They should make them drive through a car wash before the start of qualifying ... any aero that survives that is allowed ...

Indeed. Showing them in a powerpoint presentation to Journos is hardly leaking anything, more presenting it to the world for further dissemination!

As for the car. Looks fine I suppose.

Looks quite decent, but the more important question is what will the aerodynamic wake be like?

Good idea.

Those upturned winglets at the end of the front wings look more like they came off a Boeing 737 -800 rather than a car. I doubt we'll see those on actual F1 cars - unless they are made compulsory.

No significant difference to what's been fitted before in F1; effectively an endplate without the skirt extension:

Seb at Ferrari 2021 confirmed then!

Anyone else notice the slightly shrouded rear wheels? Less turbulent air perhaps?

Not so sure. There is obviously an aerodynamic difference in having that "swoop" style at the end of wing compared to a simple end-plate. Aircraft on the whole have not used simple end plates similar to what used to be common on racing cars 30 to 40 years ago (there are a couple of rare exceptions)

Unless they are mandated, I don't see what advantage they offer for down force generating. Their role in airliners is to limit wing tip vortices thereby reducing drag thereby improving range and/or fuel efficiency. Not sure if that is a factor in motor racing - and, of course - they are upside down in respect to the way they work on an aircraft wing.

It would be good to find out the logic behind them as shown in that picture.

Can't be sure, but the whole thing looks narrower... And the gap in the halo even tighter to get in and out of.

Wing end plate design has always been critical to the airflow over the rest of the car. The vortices generated around the front wing ends have no doubt been the subject of many thousands of hours of analysis. The image of the Ferrari is just an image.
