How many Drag Racers in EU and USA ?

Hello DragHeads,

I have been serching the net but with limited results, regarding the question :

Ho many active Drag Racers are there currently in Europe and the US of A ?

drdb shows about 2.200 for Europe, Draglist has about 110.000 entries,

but those include ex-racers (I think), has anyone got a clue about current numbers

of racers, licensed and RWYB and "Outlaw" drivers/riders ?


P.S. : One of the highlights at the Euro Finals was a music request for PH´s RWJ :

I believe Shostakovitch classic music has never been played, anywhere else, anytime, on the PA system....8-))

Yes, Dmitri Shostakovich: "General Dance & Apotheosis" (?) from his "The Bolt" ballet suite. Real get-up-and-go stuff.

Thanks for telling me it got played. Naturally, I never heard it.

And to think we had one of the world's leading male ballet stars in attendance watching the racing. Never ceases to amaze, drag racing.

NHRA usually claims 30,000 active, licensed racers across the US and Canada. Goodness knows how many more there are with other groups and sanctions.

Never heard about that database , surprised to see myself on there but quite a bit of data missing but its a long time back
