New Years Honours lists are kept under tight control, IIRC the papers only get them 24 hours in advance under strict embargo.
ks.
ks then. And it would be farcical, so pretty clearly trolling.

SPOTY has never been good for motorsport. Remember Ryan Giggs won over WDC Jenson Button when Giggs had done nothing more than break totting up records.

Hant it already been said that Gareth Southgate has got a Knighthood in the NY honour's list?
I don't know. I do know that my wife used to work in a press office of a large university and they had to manually search the lists after publication to see which professors, etc got an honour - so even they weren't told in advance.paulguitar said:

k off with comments like that. I said where I had got it from. What the hell sort of trolling would it be? I saw something that thought would be a discussion point and put it up. RB Will said:

Why even bother to repeat something that is plainly nonsense?

Perhaps I’m misremembering, but wasn’t Horner’s CBE announcement made around the end of 2023, with the investiture taking place only last week? Why was there a year between the announcement and the ceremony?
That's quite normal. There's always a few months in between. I think there are only a couple of investiture ceremonies each year, and you get to select which one you can attend. Presumably Horney simply chose the one after the F1 season had finished when he'd have more time to attend, rather than something in the middle of the season.thegreenhell said:

I saw an article yesterday stating he has given up drinking this year to totally focus on the racing. In my mind this isn't necessarily a good thing. Stress outlets and letting your hair down are absolutely key in life. He mentions last year he went out drinking in Amsterdam the weekend before his win in miami.
I can't help but think this is the wrong approach for him. He's putting too much pressure on himself.
The headline is about a small incident on said night out last year but it's not the most interesting point.

I can ever see Lando being world champion, he just doesn't seem to be able to take the pressure.
Oscar on the other hand always sounds completely calm in the cockpit, and as we saw in Saudi, knows how to manage a race perfectly. He is also able to go wheel to wheel with Max and get the better of him on the first corner.
How many times have we seen Lando get pole, mess up the start and end up third after a couple of corners.

Alcohol is a poison and trigger for anxiety and depression, if he wants to be at his best he's better off not drinking.I saw an article yesterday stating he has given up drinking this year to totally focus on the racing. Sure but there is big difference between a few swigs of champagne on the podium / glass of wine once a week and going on a bender in Amsterdam (which I think was the reference for last year)White-Noise said:

There's a reason why elite sportsmen (Cristiano Ronaldo, Harry Kane, Andy Murray to name just three) abstain from alcohol.
I absolutely agree that letting one's hair down and de-stressing is important, but there's absolutely no reason to suggest that those things need to involve alcohol.
