FE has its place but you wonder if anyone bigging it up ever actually bothers to try and watch it.
As for the new cars. Lots of nice futeristic wings and things for something thats too slow to need them.
Why the FIA has allowed it to be some sort of fake f1 is anyone's guess.
The cars should have had a buggy type style and soft suspension for the road courses they run and would have looked exciting to drive round the city streets.
Instead its just looks like some twit driving their lambo around a bumpy car park.
If you are just some kid sat in a bedroom with no experience of anything I guess it all looks the same.

They haven't, though.

It's never been its intention to offer an alternative to - or compete with - F1. It's just another racing series that happens to use electric motive power. It may not appeal to some but does to others in the same way that there are many that prefer WEC to F1 or BTCC to Indy...

Back to VAN, out qualified again by ALO yesterday keeping up his (quite frankly, astounding) record of being beaten by his teammate in every single qualifying this season.

He’s crap.

Woh! No need to hold back. Say what you really think.

I agree though. Formula E are welcome to him.

Woh! The thought police are here!

Vandoorne qualified last, again. The consistency is astounding. I can't remember any other season/driver in the last 3 decades who would have been as consistent as Stoffel. Perhaps one of the Simtek drivers?

Don't get where this idea of slow comes from. I guess it's because people keep comparing it to F1 when that is not, and never has been the intention of the series. Apart from them being sort of open wheel cars how anyone can think it's a fake F1 is beyond me. There's absolutely nothing in common between the two series as far as the tracks, rules, cars etc go.

A potential top speed of 175mph around a street track as tight as the ones they race is not slow. It would by physically impossible for an F1 car to get round most of the tracks they race on they are that tight.

I have seen the Formula E here in Switzerland. I will never go again, never.
They are relatively slow, the most exciting noise is the squealing of tyres (seriously).
It’s a nice show for the family being in the city and for us it’s was free unless you wanted a stand seat.

I go to F1 every year at different circuits, and never tire of the spectacle.

One is for Motorsport fans, the other for families wondering what do to at the weekend.

Didn’t Van have a great pre F1 career? Just goes to show how good Alonso still is, how good Hamilton was in his first season and how rare true F1 talent really is. F2 success is necessary to make it to F1 but it clearly isnt a true measure of F1 talent.

I guess we'll never find out whether it was the car or him seriously lacking quality. Some claim that McLaren designed this and previous years' cars to suit Alonso's style.

There is simply no way he's as bad a driver as his F1 career suggests, he was incredibly quick and consistent all through his junior single seater career. His race to win ratio is pretty darn impressive.

I guess an absolute dog of a car doesn't help, you have to wonder just how much extra Alonso is extracting from that car to put it where he does, maybe it's also really well suited to his driver style? It wouldn't surprise me McLaren are throwing everything at the Alonso side of the garage as it's the best hope of points they have.

And there's nothing wrong with that although I think you'll find there are more motorsport fans than you might realise who follow it.

From day 1 FE said they were trying to attract different people to the sport.

I don't see how it can't be anything but good for motorsport in general if they are attracting families.
