It's amazing its survived all this time as a racing car and great to hear you have a story to connect to it from back in the day when it was a current/new racing car. Where is/was the Farningham pub?
It's at the bottom of Death Hill as was, now much less dramatically Gorse Hill. It used to have a bigger car park, before the A20 was widened.

Rob Walker was there. The pair came out of the pub together before the race and Moss came over to my father. Walker leaned up against what was, I think, an Aston Martin DB 2/3. Full story, together with a picture of the sidecar my father built, here https://writewheel.uk/2018/07/19/moss-me-and-the-m...

There have been some biggy's at the bottom of that hill, one of them mine.

The pub has since been coverted into flats IIRC

Great article thanks for sharing.

Last time I saw Moss he was zipping around Mayfair on his scooter !

Some familiar faces in the marshalling team - who were mainly from the Lotus Seven Club.

Now, who's got a Shadow - or a Token - to rattle the windows in Denbigh ? The town is currently hosting an excellent (but temporary )Tom Pryce exhibition , which we visited last month.I got to thinking ....

BTW - not one , but two 250SWBs- my cup would have runneth over...

I know everyone goes on about the GTO, and for good reason, but I think the SWB 250s are sublime. Scaglietti's finest. And, as you say, two of them.

I started chatting to an old boy - I'm 70, but he was old to me - about the cars, or rather he was talking about Moss in the TT. I said I'd seen him later than year and I wasn't sure which of the two he was driving. I got ten minutes of differences, interspersed with little comments about Walker's cars. He was then called away, I hope not because his friends thought he was bothering me. His voice was very quiet so I missed a lot.

As you say, lots of marshals from the Lotus Seven Club. There is one shown at the end of my video who was very pleasant to talk to. She owns a 7.
