2019 Licence renewals - When

Does anyone know when the MSA allow 2019 licence applications for renewals?

I really want to do it whilst this years medical is still valid to avoid needing to do it again.

I usually do mine in January and then December to get the two years without a medical. The medical lasts for a year so as long as the renewal is in that time frame you shouldn't have an issue.

I did mine online last year for just this reason. You could just keep checking here to see when they open the entry. If last year's anything to go by it'll be any day now.

The licence applications are down for maintenance.
2019 competitor renewals will be going live Wednesday 14th. .

Excellent. I put my form in the post the other day (previous medical was 21 months ago!). Now I'll sit watching the web site...

In theory, that won't work as the medicals only last 12 months, so you need to apply before the 1 year anniversary of the last medical.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to apply online which I think is due to the number of dodgy body parts I report on my form, so I do a medical every year. It gets done at the club AGM so it's very easy to do.

Got my 2019 licence in the post yesterday, so they're starting to dribble out. This year's refinement is the absence of a paper Blue Book and a lanyard to hang your licence around your neck. (?? Why??)

As well as the lanyard, you also get a ‘2019 Competitor Licence Holder’ circular sticker – for where? Windscreen of tow car? Race Car?

I got my licence today, only applied a week ago and didn’t fast track or anything. Have to say I was very impressed. I also felt like the msa were genuinely trying to be different and justify the rebrand. A definite step in the right direction in my opinion.
