How about a sweepstake on which drivers get held up at gun point this year?

The track used to be nearly double the length!

Love this race. One of the best of the year as far as I'm concerned and even better when it rains.

How are the Redbulls expected to perform here (in the dry)? Am I right in thinking the long uphill main straight requires some serious horsepower if you want to keep up?

Also, is Ricciardo expecting a grid penalty after last weekends failure or was his PU ok?

Be interesting to see if Bottas can up his game now, knowing that we won't be asked to move over if he is in a winning position.

Might be hard to tell if Lewis takes his foot off the gas.

Ok,

So the Mercs should have good race pace and the soft tyre is in play too (favoured), but will look to consolidate the WCC, they are 55 points ahead and a Ferrari 1/2 could claw back up to 43 if Merc had a double DNF.

Ferrari, race win here, Kimi for me, but let’s see Seb put a race together.

Red Bull, possible race win, car should be quick here, this race is heavy on the tyres and red bull have had the least deg of the front runners, I can see alternative strategy’s, podium a certainty for one of them.

Rain a chance on Friday, looks heavy Saturday, a few cars out of place, who gets the timing right?

The pick of the rest,

Hülkenberg, expecting a good race, works the tyres well, has shown good pace on extreme strategy’s had his one and only pole here.

CLC, not having a great run with multiple DNF in last 6/7 races, needs to show he can finish races and now is the time to start.

Vandoorne, made 8 places up last race weekend, let’s see that again and a points finish?

Racing Point are 15 points behind McLaren and 9 in front of Sauber, need a good points haul to take the WCC to Abu Dhabi, Ocon and Perez need to play nicely.

He's had all season to up his game and hasn't done it yet. Unless he's handed a win by Lewis now he won't do it on pace.

I went to see Bottas speak before the start of the season and he seemed very confident that he could beat Lewis...his excuse for last year was that he only had a few week before the start of the season whereas Lewis had the car set up around him for 2017....He was so confident I put £100 on him to win....Ooops. I can see Lewis giving a win back to Valterri before the end of the season though.

yes From Hat-Gate forward we saw Rosberg with the bit between his teeth as Lewis seemed to cruise by comparison. I don't think I've ever seen that from Bottas except maybe in his 2014 season battles with Raikkonen. Russia and maybe Baku were the only times I think Bottas had the edge.

Not 'Live on Channel 4', highlights only.

For those who don't subscribe to SkyF1, the race (not practice or qualifying) is live on Sky1.

Their caption (sorry), should say broadcasting on C4!

I quite fancy a red bull win here actually-all depends on how tyre wear goes.

Second highest race on the calendar isn’t it (although still way below Mexico)?

Will Lewis take on a new development PU like last year?

I hope so, a drive from the back is great to watch and bringing PU development bits will only help their 2019 campaign.

I reckon Mercedes will do what they can to give Bottas the win, which is fair enough, but my money would go on Vettel this weekend.
1. Vettel
2. Bottas
3. Verstappen

Looks decidedly wet according to the weather with a chance of thunderstorms forecast for Saturday and sunda. If its wet I can see a Merc 1-2 unless Ferrari/Red bull have managed to solve their lack of wet weather pace.

Imagine the speed a 2018 car would carry into turn 1 on the old circuit. That would be epic.

Hulk may get a podium?
He's improved a lot this season. His wheel-to-wheel skills are impressive. I hope that Renault can produce something suitable for his talents next season. He's been the 'one-to-watch' for a long time though and I think his chances at the WDC have passed.
