Renault putting the boot in this time..

You know when people just set themselves up to look like a tool. This is one of those moments.

What, rain in Interlagos?.....
It's been forecast all week, today was supposed to be the worst day, so far it's just been grey, close and cool, feels like it is going to rain but just keeps teasing. I suspect it will be very heavy If/when it does come, If it is a wet race I wonder if Lewis will let VB pass, given his ongoing wet race unbeaten record.

Off topic Dunc but checked to see if you were a Dunc I knew from years ago and hat a great fleet you have. Even your past fleet is an impressive mix of interesting cars. smile
Was I the Dunc you knew?

It's an interesting mix certainly, don't think my fleet list is complete tbh (left some of the even crapper stuff off biggrin )

Dunc.
No. Dunc I knew stayed in Edinburgh and had an almera sx I think so was checking your car history.

I went to see Bottas speak before the start of the season and he seemed very confident that he could beat Lewis...his excuse for last year was that he only had a few week before the start of the season whereas Lewis had the car set up around him for 2017....He was so confident I put £100 on him to win....Ooops. I can see Lewis giving a win back to Valterri before the end of the season though.
Interesting! Yes, I think his ship has sailed on that front. I did think Bottas would be more of a match; makes you realise just how good Rosberg was.

I think Bottas probably deserves another chance before he gets written off. In the first half of this season he pretty much was a match for Hamilton - it was only really things beyond his control which put him behind Hamilton in the standings at the mid-point. It's hard to say whether the gulf in performance in the second half of the season was down to Hamilton stepping up a gear or Bottas falling away but I suspect it was a bit (or possibly a lot) of both.

Indeed, a little naughty from Renault. I wonder if that’ll get edited.

I love that dig. For Renault it is payback time.

We need more fun in F1.

“Well Max, Pole, P1, Fastest Lap, and you lead every lap, your first Grand Chelem, how do you feel”?

“Well we were a little slow on the straights”!

Here's hoping for some good on track action. I'd love for Hamilton to have to start from the back and then go for it with nothing to lose in a wet race.

It was at this event last year where he had that bizarre qualifying accident and did exactly that, debuting Mercedes’ 2018 engine developments.

Personally would love one more Ricciardo win before he moves to Class B and it ain’t happening at Abu Dhabi...

I think Mercedes will be looking to get a win for Bottas.

Doubt he will have the pace to get into a position to win.

Mercedes won't care about a Bottas win; they simply want to secure the WCC, by any which way.

Don't know why there has been all this talk about Hamilton handing a win over to Bottas- I bet nobody wants to see a win gifted and that will include Bottas himself.

It's all moot as this is not particularly a Lewis or a Mercedes track so Lewis / Bottas 1&2 is unlikely anyway.

Bottas is good around the Abu Dhabi circuit but I think he might have a tough time beating the Ferraris there.

I agree, being gifted a win isn't a win... I doubt anyone would feel they'd actually won. You're top a podium you didn't fight for, your team mate on the next set... Just like how Lewis was for his tactical win. He wasn't happy either. Bottas will want to win the right way.
