It’s not common that the leader is holding up a faster back marker.
A very good measure of just how farcical F1 has become in the modern era with Micky Mouse Pirellis and limited fuel in Hybrid PUs which could be much faster, but need to be preserved.

Whether Ocon's attempt to get past was legitimate or not, what Verstappen did was just plain stupid because he had so much to lose.

Exactly so and I think that's what Lewis politely implied when he spoke to Max immediately after the race.....

I agree that the format has produced some contrived racing.

Motive is also an interesting dynamic in the Ocon / Max incident.

Ocon was the only person smiling in the post race interview.

Ocon has played rough with his team mate on many occassions and still kept smiling.

Ocon's historic bad blood with Max it's likely he got involved for kicks and giggles before he leaves F1.

Ocon continued smiling in the teenage pushing.

Last chance to thumb his nose at Max
biggrin

Some people subconsciously smile under stress, unable to control it. It doesn't mean that they are not stressed, quite contrary.
