The lack of coverage is going to have a seriously negative impact on viewing figures. I doubt many who haven’t signed up to Sky already are suddenly going to.

I certainly fall into that camp and I’ve watched F1 pretty religiously since I was a kid.
Fact I subscribe to Sky sports as it shows the football. If it didn’t I wouldn’t bother subscribing. I only watch the F1,Cricket and Football but Football is the deal breaker.

I cancelled my Sky F1 package last year.

I am going to try a weekend NowTV package for the first race and see if I still care.

Is it possible to buy a NowTV mobile pass for £6 and use Cast from the phone to stream to the telly? If so, would the quality be any good?
Now TV Mobile Pass doesn't give you the F1 channel.

The thing is, I don't mind paying for sky - but sky are only showing the second half of each test session. So the reason I can't use F1TV to watch it all, is because Sky have the rights, but they only bother to show half of it. If they can't be arsed to show it all fine, but there is content left not being monetised by anyone in the UK. It's become a laughable situation.

To sum up, In the UK we're paying for Sky to pay for rights for a sport, that they then don't show in full. And there is no other option. Well there is... And this is exactly the reason piracy is ongoing. The bloody pirates do a better job of delivering content. In my position I can't afford to go down an illegitimate route but frankly, I wouldn't feel morally incorrect if I did as I'm already paying for Sky F1 and F1TV and there is a still a gap lol!! Where else can I throw money for the rest?
Given how niche F1 is in the U.K. and previously only qualifying and race day were on terrestrial- suddenly needing way of the practice sessions is unusual

Personally I pay the full whack - I’ve glanced at practice literally a handful of times if thatand I suspect most men are in the same boat too.

A race weekend qualify plus race plus nkw Fridays too and then wanting more is either sibgkeomfon or frankly you need to be fair to your wife and kids - maybe cancelling it is good for you too(maybe cancel that mine raft subscription you have as it’s not very inclusive, don’t worry porn is enjoyed by bot meh men and women)

that's pretty much me

theres so much motorsport on that I can watch BSB, WEC, Formula E, WSBK on Eurosport for £2.99 a month
Theres BTCC on ITV and then IMSA, ELMS, Blancpain on YouTube

when they don't clash with F1 il get a NOW TV day pass, and when they do il watch the highlights

I'm sorry I came over as being sibgkeomfon, I didn't intend too. I'm not sure what a 'bot meh' is, but when I find out, I will recall your post and be glad to know both sexes of that species enjoy porn, it's good to have such knowledge should it ever be needed smile

What boat are most men in? Is that what you refer to as the mine raft? Why are all these men on a raft? I also thought nkw stood for 'naked Wednesdays' (it does in this house), but you have that on a Friday!? That's madness wink

Looking at Brundles twitter feed this morning he mentions exciting news for Sky F1 pricing....

....wonder if they’re finally listening and are going to do a special deal just for the Sky F1 channel?

Bloody hell, beat me to it haha

Disappointing mind you. The £10 a month seems ok, but I assume you already have to be a Sky TV customer first and won’t be available through Now TV. Why can’t they just create an app like Eurosport Player

I said before that adding sports was something like £540/year, and totally not worth it, but I think for £120, to have all footage on the planner when I get home and want to watch, it's a no brainer.

It doesn't say anything about HD though, we only have FTA HD channels, not the sky package. Wonder if we'll need to get HD as well...

Apart from if you don’t have sky tv in the first place....in which case I’ve got to fork out £32 a month

In my circumstance, I do, and we'll have sky with or without F1, so it's just the uplift to consider.

I don’t think this received the acknowledgment it deserved.

Still have to pay for the basic Sky package @ £22 a month and then £10 on top as far as I’m aware though....

At least now we have the choice not to pay to watch it live. I can remember when there was little or no live F1 on UK TV at all.

Nothing, nada.

So, long may Sky with their excellent coverage continue!
