£10.00 per month is only for existing Sky subscribers.

Sky should sell a pre paid viewing card for non subscribers that don't want to watch all the default channels that we get free on Freesat.

I reckon that £10 a month deal has sold me tbh. We have no subscription at all at the moment but the tenner a month for f1 coupled with £22 a month for the basic package and ability to record, fast forward and series link other shows we watch makes sense, for the gf and me at least.

Still have to pay for the basic Sky package @ £22 a month and then £10 on top as far as I’m aware though....
No you just find a friend who has sky sports and piggy back off his/her subscription via the SkyGo app, as a subscriber you are allowed to connect 2 devices to your account, most people don't and have effectively 2 spare slots so could let you have one, doesn't cost you or them a penny, I have my tablet on and my brother has the other slot because he earns twice what I do and is a cheap skate

If you know someone who works for Sky you can get a decent introductory deal from them, or if you ask at one of the retail desks in shopping centres they usually have a deal that can get you more than the £5 off, possibly as much as £10 discount. F1, in HD, for £25-£30pm? to some that's worth it.

Why would I want to watch an 18 year old GP from 2001?

Don't tell me, the racing was better, the noise was better, more overtaking... the usual bull we get on this forum.

Edited to say maybe you dont, but back then in the "Old Days" people could watch it for free rather than be suckered in to pay the rich kids to race..........and it was more exciting than the fabricated "personalities" you have now

Why should people watch for free? It's a produced sport.. the spectacle costs money to create.

Yes I know it's 'sponsored' but that alone doesn't cover costs. The driver's pay is also rediculous, I agree. But even if that was taken out of the equation, the sport these days still needs the viewing public to pay.

The difference I think is that 30 years ago a good group of mechanics could get a race car to perform in ways normal people couldn't believe. These days you have to sink £50m to simply make a functional car meet the regs, let alone make it remotely competitive. There are road cars now that can match the acceleration of an F1 car, so to keep F1 a worthy spectacle, costs an insane amount of money.

So if you want to watch, got to pay. But of course - you don't have to watch, it's optional.

In 2001 McLaren was spending £250 Million on its cars, Its about rich boys wanting to get richer, is it a spectacle yup it is so is Le-Mans and so is club racing

I'm jealous of the drivers too, but try not letting your envy escalate into blind resentment.

Just an offer from Now TV for sports for £20 a month for 3 months, instead of £38

that will do to cover the rest of the football season and first few races

I'm in agreement, but wondered if it's a 2 year contract, or just added to what you have.

"offer comes with a two-year price guarantee" says it won't be increased, not that it'll lock you in for 2 years.

Erm not blind resentment but pragmatic choice something I had for "free" is now charged for I choose not to line others pockets, Both the BBC and ITV did a great job I agree technology has moved on I still pay a TV licence I still have adverts that pay for watching.......why on earth should I pay even more for something I enjoy but had for free....Anyway Petrol cars are about to run dry, EV's are coming and it will be dull dull dull wink

But not long before it was free it wasn't available at all. Long may we have the choice to pay & watch or not pay & not watch!

That argument doesn't make sense....please please Mr broadcaster you know that program about F! races, you know the one that was free to air.......I must give you my money..... I would rather give you it than save it, spend it on my Kids holliday, Wifes birthday, day out with the girlfriend, that is assuming you can afford pay to view..
