For Claire Williams to acknowledge all the problems currently in the team and start to sort them she needs to admit she isn't capable of doing her job and leave. But that won't happen.
Harsh, but true.

Whatever Williams plans for next year, it does seem very likely, looking at their current performance and financial outlook, that whoever drives, they will have two cars at the back again.

Which raises the question, why would they want to replace RK? There are theories (plausible) that GR is a future top driver.. but even with two GR's, they still aren't going to make any meaningful progress until the car is improved drastically. GR has done brilliant things this season, but whilst we can celebrate those moments from Williams perspective, from the overall grid perspective they're simply not in the race - not unless something weird happens to shift the order.

So why might they want to replace RK? He's popular enough to attract some sponsorship. All I can figure is that someone else may be able at attract more sponsorship..

It's also possible that RK, has made a personal decision of course. I think it's more likely a Williams decision but we can't know one way or another for certain.
Thought you might be back as there's the chance to say negative things about Williams. Your absence after their recent half decent performances was very apparent...

Is it? I'm not convinced. There may be other factors preventing her leading how she wants to. She certainly presents herself very well.

She worked in many departments, Id suspect that lack of funding and the fact her dad probably has a huge influence on the direction of travel may be preventing her from doing a really great job.

Nic Hamilton will not be competing in the last two BTCC races due to 'sponsorship issues'

The only sponsor they have of sufficient means to seemingly cause 'issues' is Rokit

I wonder if they are going to become the new Rich Energy and what impact this would have on Williams?....assuming of course the NH thing does indeed relate to them.

Rokit phones are known to be slower and lacking the modern features of competing smart phones. I would say their sponsorship of Williams is therefore very honest and appropriate, compared to the whole RE debacle wink

On a serious note, I have thought all season that the Williams livery with Rokit on their car looks really good. It's one of the few attractive 'poster' cars of the grid this year with that livery. I know a little of the previous exploits of the guys behind Rokit, and it's not great - but not dishonest or scandalous. I think as a sponsor they're clearly not bringing megabucks, they're a new(ish) brand and Williams can hardly demand megabucks - the reality is that on the rare occasions their cars are shown on TV, it's normally accompanied with a commentator or pundit saying something not entirely positive about their performance this season. You can only sell advertising space for so much if it's only generally shown in a less than positive light.

I think I heard they're backing Williams again next year though - so I guess it's working out for both parties on some level.

Hope so...... I bought a Rokit Williams jacket last week. Would like to get a least a year out of it while they are still the current sponsor.

I'm sure they'll take the retained value of 'merch' into account when they sign wink

Fingers crossed for you!

When you make something up, it's not clear - it's made up. Why not do a bit of research rather than constantly running them down? There are many people working very hard to get the best out of what they have available, they haven't given up and are very much still racing. Well, that's what my friend who works there says, but what would he know?

How did I run them down?? Can Williams currently demand mega-buck from sponsors? No, they cannot. It's the truth.

Jeez, i never even commented on what Williams are doing to progress, I referred only to the sponsorship in place. What are you so sensitive about?

EDIT: Unless your friend has seen the mega-bucks held in a safe on site? Because those bucks are certainly not on present in their accounts. I think it's entirely fair and reasonable to say they don't have a mega-bucks sponsor when it patently clear that their entire revenue, leave alone sponsorship, is not at that kind of level. That's not a dig at Williams but an attempt to demonstrate the relevance of what I said, in context.

Another blinding session by Kubica.

His interview pre qualy was weird, he couldn’t bring himself to say he knows he’s off the pace despite admitting it in as many words.

Rokit wasn't the issue - he lost the Duo sponsorship and Rokit stepped in to make up the difference for Knockhill. He couldn't find a replacement so withdrew from the series.

Any clues or insights in to the brake issue today? Obviously when they had examined Russell's car, whatever they found they worried could fail for kubica too.

Williams has problems with brakes from the beginning of the season. Probably because they have no clue what is wrong.

Kubica's brakes had failure in Singapore. And he has complained about them all the season.

Latifi needs to think twice about his sponsorship.
