Looks like Ted has a new show this season:-

"Additionally, in an update to this year’s schedule, Sky Sports F1® presenter, Ted Kravitz, will host new show, F1® Midweek Debrief, each Wednesday of the 2019 season. Former Head of Vehicle Performance at the Williams Martini Racing Formula One® team, Rob Smedley, will join Ted for the first show on 20 March at 6pm (repeated at 7.30pm) on Sky Sports F1®.

Sounds like that’s all he will be doing and won’t actually be at any of the races which is a huge shame.

This show is basically a re hash of the show Natalie Pinkham use to do. So, looks like he’s been demoted.
Rumours suggest he'll be doing 12 or 13 races.

The new show is on F1Tv, so wonder if he's got a contract with them.

Whatever happened they now seem to have Chandhok in his place in the pit lane - IMO a huge retrograde step.

Crofty said during P1 that Ted will be back in China, so I guess they'll be splitting some roles.

Not good is it? A quite weak team all round IMO. You’d think that with the hordes of people they have, Croft, Hill, Herbert, Di Resta, Chandhok eat al, they’d have someone who could present rationally, knowledgeably and without grating.

I just wish they’d stop shouting each other down, more ego than ability.

But Chandhok’s droning on and on............oh dear.

Agreed. They have so many people now, it just seems they are desperate to spend Sky's (our) money. I also found Chandhok very annoying and have to turn off when he is on. I love Damon, but I don't really know what he is doing there. I'd be happy with Brundle and Herbert doing the commentating and Ted doing his walkabouts.

Wasn't the rumour that Ted wants to spend more time at home with his kids? Hence not going to every race etc.

Very much this - if Ted doesn't want to do the travel, I could accept it, but Chandhok needs to go - I couldn't watch the C4 coverage because of him, and he grates on me now.

A better solution would be PDR and Ant Davidson mixing these roles between them - like them both.

Ted is in the paddock with sky credentials. He just walked past me.

Shame not to see Ted, the sky presentation was dull , the Di resta interview was a disaster, loads of awkward pauses.

No, Button isn't there. Ted won't be part of tomorrow's Sky coverage - Sky already confirmed who will be there and he wasn't listed.

What with Chandhok , PDR , and Crofty with Damon thrown in to the mix I am considering cancelling Sky as I don't think I can take that much droning on at every GP , Ted is a bloody genius compared to those dullards

Damon gets a free pass from me to drone on as much as he likes, but I'm with you otherwise. Pretty ropey start, as much as it has been worse.

I wonder if Ted has decided to wind down the F1 attendance a little to spend more time with his kids before they grow too old?

Sky do seem to have this mentality of "we have all this money; who or what gimmick can we spend it on next?" and end up trading quantity for quality. Contrast that with C4 - relatively small team, few gimmicks (no darts for example), concentrating on the output. It led to a more enjoyable programme.

I think sky needs to focus.

If you’re watching Sky F1, you’re probably a little more interested than perhaps catching the race on c4.

I wish they’d cater for knowledgeable fans in an intelligent fashion. i.e. not lowest common denominator football style.

In depth background features either with teams, drivers or circuits.

I really enjoyed the original F1 channel where you had an audio choice of commentary style or the option where it was commentary but mixed with decent chat about F1 stories and background stuff from the weekend. If you’re listened to radio Le Mans, something like that would be good.

I don’t need Croft screaming ‘it’s a massive shunt!!’ when someone gently slides into a tyre barrier.

The commentators are desperate to be the next sky slow mo hd ad.

Like the whole Gerrard Olympiakos goal and Tyler on ROOOOONNNEEY when he just scratched his arse.

Its all contrived ste by sky. Croft is awful for it

unfortunately I don't think that's the case - the hard core fans will sit and watch F1 regardless, its the casual drop in fans that sky will see most $ in pandering too. Hence Ted's notebook is replaced with more purile tripe like radio controlled cars and groping Carlos sainz.

OTOH without Ted the sky package has nothing beyond race commentary to interest anyone over the age of 11, which makes me think even more of VPNs and buying it straight off liberty.
