They also had 450bhp , a trim 500 kilo , no aero worth beans and crossply tyres. Not so much kickback as very twitchy cars .

Skip to 5 minutes there's a cracking overhead shot of senna going into coppice, not very often the car is caught with its own audio in one shot, it happened here because he was so far ahead on lap two! You can 100% hear the traction control killing the ignition definitely no tap tap being used. According to brundle in '93 you went full throttle and let the traction decide how far the throttle was opening. Presumably as far as it could without eliciting wheelspin. Made the engines sound st though.....

One of JYS F1 cars i restored had a steering damper fitted similar to a motorbike.

Never seen that on any other F1 car ive worked on.

When you listen to Senna in the corners the McLaren sounds sick.

Perhaps the traction control is fighting his technique.

5:15 in the clip.

Deja vu, that's the exact clip I posted. It's a new upload with very clear audio. The '93 tc was horrific and ruined the sound of the engines, it's totally different to any other season. The bennetons weren't using tc in this race according to hunts commentary. McLaren were using the older non pneumatic ford v8 as opposed to bennetons air valve engine. Senna has no trouble getting the tail out on some corners despite tc. Interesting.
