British Grand Prix: New Silverstone deal announced until 2024
The future of the British Grand Prix has been secured for the next five years with a new agreement between Formula 1 and Silverstone.
This weekend's event was due to be the last after Silverstone ended its contract because it was too expensive.
But after two years of negotiations, Silverstone and F1 bosses signed a new deal until 2024 in London on Tuesday.
F1 chairman Chase Carey described the race at Silverstone as "an integral part" of the future of the sport.

BBC as fast as ever I see. This was all over my digital copy of Motorsport news last night.
It wasn't on Pitpass until today. I would assume that the normal policy in such cases was followed and the information was given to the BBC yesterday but embargoed until a specific time today. That's how things work.I was being a bit naughty in my suggestions in the sense that if an old style circuit is still in active use, I would prefer if F1 left it alone. Modifying a traditional circuit to meet the lunatic requirements of modern F1 does two things -
ruins the circuit
puts the circuit owners under massive financial strain (leading to bankruptcy in some cases).
