According to some sources, Michael Schumacher is awake and was watching racing with Jean Todt!

The article just quotes Todt as saying "I saw the race together with Michael Schumacher at his home".

This doesn't mean Schumacher was paying any attention to the race.

Why? It's fairly unequivocal from Todt, even if it just means putting the telly on above his bed.

The old adage of ''the lights are on, but nobodies home'' ...?

Jean watched but Michael was just in the Room.

It’s just playing with words sadly.

It is 100% fake.
Who the hell stays awake watching F1 nowadays.?

Whoever gets to the first corner first normally wins That way i can get on with doing something more interesting

And before anyone starts ranting. I have been watching racing of all types from 1964. Snetterton/Brands/Crystal Palace/Silverstone Where driving ability meant more than sitting in a moving video game and letting someone else press the buttons

Whilst safety has meant the driveis are more cocooned ( and i am in whole hearted agreement) you do miss watching the DRIVE thr car instead of just pointing it and hoping the traction control.air brakes ,man on the end of a phone, decides they know better.

Back in the day you could go to a meet. esp at Palce and see Jim Clark in an F2 Lotus, then in a Cortina in the next race, then a lotus 23 type body. It is all bland now.and the fun has gone right out of it
And i hope Schu does get better

Grandstands are pretty full.
Last few races have been fantastic. Admittedly the French GP was a snooze fest.

Yea, or course they were. Falling asleep while standing to watch the race carries a much higher risk of injury than falling asleep while sat in a grandstand seat.

It's probably quite sad that I know that is a quote from Abe Simpson hehe

I thought he was already awake? It's just he can't talk or do anything for himself, just sits there and blinks?

confused

He's been "awake" for ages.

The problem is (based on assumption due to protection of his privacy) that he can't walk, talk, look after himself, etc.

Has he? I thought they'd refused to give any information on his condition at all (as is, of course, their right).

That's the last I heard. He's assisted in basic mobility exercises to keep the physical side ticking over. They have tried various object association techniques to help memory etc, and essentially basic puzzles and so fourth. Sadly, nothing that suggests progress. Iirc from an article I must have read way over a year ago which is the last time I looked for an update.

Very sad situation - at least no reason to believe he's personally distressed. Must be crushingly sad for his immediate family.
