All Mercedes-powered cars are due to race with the new engines, but they may have been using older units for Friday practice.
All had PU 3, hence why the grid penalty’s have been confirmed...

Something is burning Stroll's seat.
Did Stroll have the new engine that Perez had? If so it doesn’t look good - Perez looked properly pissed off.
Or could be heat related - perhaps they changed something else on the car which has affected cooling? Weird that they stroll was also moaning about heat the same session that Perez engine gives up.

Hot today, going to be hotter tomorrow-we managed to blag ourselves into the F2 paddock so watched a lot from there, then went up to radillon and the straight to see them at full speed-great stuff.

Not sure where we'll go tomorrow? Maybe Pouhon?

That is probably the greatest challenge now at Spa, with Eau Rouge and Blanchimont being easy flat. You might also want to try Stavelot? the second part, in particular, is a challenge.

We walked the circuit this morning, took a couple of hours with a few stops. Lots of good places to watch.

I’m with my (fit!) 72 year old dad though-don’t want to push it too far in this heat. Pouhon today I think then Blanchemont tomorrow...

Just caught the end of GP2 practice, Ralph Boschung pulled his car off to the inside at Stavelot where there is a break in the barriers (all gravel on the outside of the corner) and standing there was a fire extinguisher, but there was no one around. He was all by himself, no marshals, no fire marshal no one. I would always expect there to be marshals at or near these areas and certainly if it's a fire marshal station.
Just because there are a couple of fire extinguishers standing around doesn't make it a fire marshal station.

It is normal practice to position extinguishers thirty or forty yards up and/or down track from where the marshals are actually standing. You don't tend to run as fast carrying an extinguisher, so you pick it up on the way to the incident.

I suppose... Whatever happens with Lewis's car, should still be a good close race tomorrow. Wouldn't be the end of the world if he starts at the back and has to battle to the front.

Plenty of other close battles to be had at the top too.

Does anyone know when the team get the car back? In a red flag situation would a truck be able to take it straight back to the garage, or does it stay there until the sessions over? I’d imagine they need every moment possible for that one.
