Give concessions to manufacturers like they do in MotoGP. Give a win 5 points, a podium 2 points. Any engine manufacturer that has less than 6 points amassed over the past two years gets more components and extra in-season testing days.
Anything is worth a try but giving Renault and Mclaren added advantages over Williams and Haas might not seem fair. seymourski said:
Given that all the teams bring a low down force aero package for this one will Ferrari's straight line speed advantage be reduced or nullified?
Presumably as some point you need enough grip for Parabolica, Curve Grande etc to get you on to the following straight at a decent pace meaning the advantage to Mercedes, and others, will diminish.
Or maybe I'm completely wrong!
According to Nico Rosberg, Ferrari have their car designed for low drag which puts them at a disadvantage at high downforce tracks as they need to compensate by whacking on wing and upsetting their cars efficiency.Presumably as some point you need enough grip for Parabolica, Curve Grande etc to get you on to the following straight at a decent pace meaning the advantage to Mercedes, and others, will diminish.

Presumably the flip side of this the generation of adequate cornering speed but mighty topspeed.
Theres a video of Lewis trying to get past Schumi with the same engine and different aero set up and it took him about an age!

It looks increasingly like Mercedes could crash Ferrari’s party on Sunday
I'm sure they will. It's worth noting too that normally when Lewis is only fractionally behind the red cars in practice, it's because he pushed only until merc know they can beat them, without actually doing so. Until quali of course. It's happened countless times.I expect a Merc win here on race pace. I also strongly suspect that if quali goes smoothly they will qualify p1 and P2 or 3.
Of course, things may not go smoothly at all. The weather on Sunday looks to be at best wildly unpredictable and at worst, a day of solid rain. Lewis might like a wet race but if it's pouring down then all bets are off - anything could happen.

Just watched the Seb v Charles RC racing. Good to see that Seb still wants to win...even though he got beaten! Good banter with the Sky crew but sensed a bit of tension between Seb and Charles!
It was good. But they will never beat max Vs Daniel throwing axe's https://youtu.be/1rM-aNQ_mSE
Lol Max pulling no punches in his criticism of Nico Rosberg after he said he had gone back to his old ways with his Spa crash.
Speaking to Dutch media about Rosberg’s remarks, Verstappen said: “I think he is the new Jacques Villeneuve. Villeneuve has changed quite a bit, but it seems that Rosberg now and again wants to give a contrary opinion.
“But I really don't care what he says on his channels anyway. He does it very often. At the beginning of this year he even called me a narcissist. That is very extreme.”
Verstappen reckoned Rosberg was speaking out so much only because he was trying to boost the viewcount of his YouTube channel – and reckons the German should have stayed a racing driver if he had wanted to earn more money.
“He has got no charisma and he doesn’t get to work anywhere,” added Verstappen. “But hey, that's also his problem.
“Maybe he also wants to make money with his YouTube channel. But then he could have been better off driving, because then he could have earned much more money.”

You got a link for that I actually think ROS is miles better as a pundit than a driver, no matter how amateur his videos come across-he really seems to come across genuine in them (as apposed to the narcissistic sociopath he appeared trying to beat HAM).Speaking to Dutch media about Rosberg’s remarks, Verstappen said: “I think he is the new Jacques Villeneuve. Great to hear unguarded comments from VER as well though on the subject, he's got an ability to say what we all probably would about ROS having heard the same comments about ourselves!
HAM is my favourite driver in the paddock but VER is rapidly becoming my favourite person there

Anyone see the Alonso interview on sky a few minutes ago?
All smiles and a glint in his eye, definitely something in the works I reckon. He was talking up how nice it was to be back in Italy, in for Vettel?
I doubt it but we can always dream. Well us Alonso fans at least. All smiles and a glint in his eye, definitely something in the works I reckon. He was talking up how nice it was to be back in Italy, in for Vettel?
