Hopefully a satisfactory number of the rest of you will join me in watching live - and turning the rest of Sunday into a write-off! Mrs Deuce will be out of luck if she expects a full Sunday roast this week.
Do a daube de boeuf instead. One pot, slow cooked. Delicious and no need to do the often challenging roast dinner juggling of timings. Plus it improves overnight, so you can do it on Saturday and then reheat.TheDeuce said:
Well, slightly awkward this Sunday - one way or another watching both quali and race live is gonna be a little taxing.
I have a vague plan to go to bed early on Saturday and watch quali in bed 2am Sunday morning, and hopefully snooze between that ending and the race beginning at 6am.. At which point I'll transfer myself to the sofa and crack open a beer

I'll raise that issue, it's the Bathurst 1000 live Saturday night which usually finishes just in time for the F1 to start, so quali will be sacrificed for some racing, and not long after the F1 finishes, the final round of the BTCC starts.. Yep, it's the juggling after a bottle of red that gets me every time! And frankly if I've cracked the first beer at 6am and had very little sleep, no chance..As a shortcut this Sunday I'm actually thinking cote de boeuf, just a quick flash in the frying pan and stick it in the oven for a short while. Then shovel chips (shout out to M&S triple cooked oven ships) and onion rings etc in the oven as it rests. Lazy but still the food of gods
I've made myself hungry typing this.

Ouch, that's landed badly. At least these days it's possible to watch one on the TV one on mobile/tablet. I'd keep an eye on quali live - could be exciting with the drivers under pressure to perform without taking any risks. Also the likelihood of some rain, or at very least a recently rained on track.
To pass the time on Saturday, Grosjean has bought a model kit Tyrrell P34 to build https://twitter.com/wbuxtonofficial/status/1182561...

I wouldn't be surprised if his long suffering mechanics bought it for him so that once he's finished, they can smash it into a wall and he can get a feel for what their weekend's normally like as he's forced to rebuild it again before being allowed to go to bed SturdyHSV said:

You can make bernaise sauce while it rests as well. Quite simple and delicious (10 mins). You can almost hear your arteries hardening.
