F1 cancelled this year?
Discussion
Formula 1 doesnt need thousands of people in quarantine, I seem to recall around 1,200 need to travel internationally, which is the teams, main officials and media. Then there are another 800-1,000 marshalls who wont need to travel as they are usually supplied locally.
It seems absolutely bonkers to introduce quarantine rules in a few weeks time. If you were going to do it you should have done it prior to this. There's also limited reason to have quarantine from countries with a similar or lower infection rate than our own.
Mind you I dont understand how so many Premier League football players tested positive, where have they been to catch it?

I suspect some people prefer women to keep their opinions to themselves when it comes to sport and politics.
Not that nonsense again. Then there was an upset and she became rude and started talking down to people. The reaction to that was naturally not great.. so she said this was obviously a forum full of sexist men. And then it happened again and she chose the same line of defence! Niether time was justified, there was no sexism.
That (repeat) comment alone far exceeds anything I have seen anyone say about her.

Sport and politics can be an unwelcome distraction from their domestic duties Not called for.

Like half the men on Pistonheads then? And women on PH, and me sometimes!
It's not a good idea to piss everyone off at once and then blame all of them for it however
Anyone know where the F1 cancelled this year thread went to?
Come on, guys. Personal isn't the way to go. She's as entitled to her opinion (is she a she?) as any of us, and can, and perhaps should, post it. If I wanted agreement, I'd talk to myself. At least the arguments would be less frequent.

Yes fair enough - happy to leave it and move on. It'd be great if this same situation doesn't flare up again..Come on, guys. Personal isn't the way to go. As for 'is F1 cancelled this year..' It seems that that's really up to Liberty at this point. Clearly several countries are now in their second and even third phase of opening up again. Austria for example, has already said they won't prevent a GP (or two..) so we're at a point there can be F1 this year. Probably enough for a championship but at very least some races look entirely possible.
Just a shame Silverstone is currently one of the obviously desirable European races but as yet no real indication from our Gov't as to whether there will quarantine exclusions sufficient to allow for such sporting events. On that note, there is more detail promised this week.. There was more detail promised each of the last two weeks though, and as yet all there appears to be is a bunch of different ministers with quite different views!
I think some F1 this year is at this point extremely likely. Wherever it takes place.

Although watch the original now and it's very obvious the car wasn't going that much faster than the surrounding traffic
