The drivers should just have a fist fight instead to see who is best.
Max would just try to headbutt everyone, while his dad beats up their girlfriends.
Hamilton would win that too, black belt holder in martial arts.

July/August/September are going to be motorsport-packed for sure. Not only have we got at least 8 GPs to watch during that period, but the 24h LM, and BTCC rounds as well... The Mrs is going to hate me.
Gonna be a bumper period for motorsport fans everywhere.

Might actually finally sign up for the Now TV F1 options.

BTCC isn't going to run behind closed doors, so far more likely to abandon 2020 if current policy continues.

Hurrah! Looking forward to it.

I guess the change in circuits this season (plus likely fewer races) could well affect the championships. Much easier to have an underdog winning when we have less races to even out luck/bad decisions in a race etc, plus of course some tracks being more suited to certain cars.
Will be interesting to see. In terms of uncertainty;
+ Fewer rounds so each individual piece of luck / mistake counts for more, as you say
+ Drivers may be rusty after such a long time without racing
+ Lockdown may have affected different teams differently, perhaps placing a premium on teamwork/harmony?
+ If your car is good at certain tracks that will have more influence
+ We may see some races being run 'out of season' and more weather-affected as a result
- The second round at each track will likely be quite predictable and thus the bigger teams will make fewer mistakes
- Some of the smaller teams may already be feeling the financial strain (eg Williams)

Will both British GP's be on "normal" telly, does anyone know?
Why would it be?

Best chance Sky will get to up the TV figures is now, with all those fans who saved hundreds £ not attending still wanting to watch the race live.

I bet there are loads of garden barbies with the TV on happening for these races.
I was on the understanding that the British GP had to be available on "normal" telly?

Yep just checked C4 can show the full British GP up to and including 2022, so will they be showing both?

Here you go - https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/f1-free-to-air-...

"Formula 1 says there are no plans to offer more live free-to-air coverage of the sport this year, despite fans being unable to attend races."

"Although Silverstone is now set to host two F1 races, F1 says that only one of them – most likely the official British GP – will be live on C4. The second event, titled the 'F1 70th Anniversary Grand Prix' would then be live only on Sky."

I've seen the new BTCC Calendar starting in August at Donington but hadn't seen about not running behind closed doors. Have they specifically said that is the case and the revised calendar is subject to spectators being allowed in?

Alan Gow has said they will run behind closed doors if that is the only way they can run races this year.

Cheers, I thought I hadn't seen them say they would only run with spectators.

At the very start he said it was inconceivable to run without spectators, I havent kept up with the BTCC, he has changed that now, so you can ignore my post. biggrin

Looking forward to this. Not quite sure how I feel about the double headers though. Doesn’t seem quite right, surly If they are keeping 2020 cars for 2021 they could just run the season Into much later in the year, may get some fun weather thrown in too.

I get the feeling they want to get the assurance of 8 races (min for a championship) before a potential 2nd lockdown.

I’m glad to see it coming back but I’m afraid whatever happens in the championship, 2020 is going to have a big * next to it.

I really hope there doesn’t have to be an * against 2021 as well.

Fair point, but all the teams are putting up with the same thing - so it's no different than a year where there have been other big changes IMO.

He is/was a white belt at BJJ.

Karate Black Belt, Karate skills very rarely translate when a fight breaks out.

I see Formula Money twitter account is still not happy and is querying driver insurance. Seems odd for investigative journalistS to nail their colours to the mast as surely the bias is noticed by potential clients.

One of the Silverstone rounds is going to be free to air for UK viewers.
