I wouldn't bother taking seriously someone who makes opinion statements as fact such as "the current lineup is not attractive, it wont last long". Well, the DB11 & Vantage have been around for ages, the DBX has been very well received and lauded as the most attractive of the SUV bunch, one of the key reasons Astons sell is because of their looks. So I'll follow that with another opinion statement as fact: jsf is just plain wrong
You use a previous very attractive generation of car as the basis for the current mingers future? That's plain nuts. No way will that front last on the current car, the SUV will probably survive in its current form.

It's pretty bold for AM to double down on F1 when it's just lost (another) £500m.
It's probably very cheap advertising for them. Also, the fact that AMG have relinquished that role in favour of Aston probably indicates that Mercedes are looking to strengthen their investment in the British brand.Stroll is doing a smart move of using his F1 team as a platform to advertise his car company, but as far as business is concerned, they are not linked.

AM have started offering an alternative nose for the Vantage as an aftermarket fitment, so even they recognise that it's not as good as it could be.
There are aftermarket companies making alternatives and AM themselves released an option front change this year. (i hadn't seen this when i posted so clearly not alone in my thoughts) https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=19...The problem with the car is actually how the bonnet line droops at the front in one section to a low line grill, its not just the grill that needs a change, the basic shape is wrong.

Nope, no idea what this is supposed to communicate
The Vantage front end has already been updated (or offered as an option) if that's what you mean

How much chassis and engine work would they have done to that DBX, to get it around a track in a representative time against the C63 Mercedes option? We discovered in Bahrain last year that every second counts when you’re in the medical car.
We also discovered that it is more down to circuit knowledge than the vehicle. See my earlier post.LucyP said:

Oh indeed, the FIA report is well worth reading (I’ve an interest in aviation, and read AAIB reports into aviation incidents and accidents all the time). I’d love to see the onboard from the medical car on that lap. Presumably they saw that the field had passed the first corner without incident, early enough that they could take the short cut, and had obviously planned for that eventuality from walking and driving the track on Thursday? Their aim is to stay as close as possible to the F1 field through their first lap.

They have the live TV feed and the extra data feeds from Race Control, including the GPS track map and the data transmitted from the cars to to RC, so they will have known about the crash and the severity before they got to the scene. I think they could see the fire also. If you watch the video, you can see the lights on the roof the the Med Car in the background.
The marshals at that post were first on scene though, and with fire extinguishers.

The whole reason Aston ended up in the s**t is because they gambled on the new Vantage but it wasn't as beautiful as the previous!aston80 said:

I think the DBX is one of the prettier high-end SUVs - it's certainly nicer than the Rolls or Bentley.

That's always the answer. If you want the benefits of a big and sporty off roader.. buy a range rover and also something sporty That said you might as well just buy a full spec RangeRover if you need SUV space.
The come lately brands that pretend to offer both in one car generally cost far more and aren't as good as two separate cars. That's why the range rover has always been pricey but not ludicrous.. they know that the bloke who buys it needs to hold a few quid back for a mid life crisis machine on the side.

Sorry to sound like a moderator, but this is an F1 thread, not a road car one.
Apology accepted.Although if you're going to post, it would best if it were about F1
You must have had something to add F1 related? Before being reasonably enough upset about the other chatter.
