Did no-one tell you that it's probably not the best idea to have the logo which is the symbol of white nationalist parties and fascism on your car? hehe

SO woke, SO stunning, SO brave.

Wonder what the racial mix of Daimler AG is or even the merc racing team for that matter. Bet them muppets will be taking the knee before races aswell
'Taking The Knee'? You bet plus that arrogant angry arm salute. Of course the boy Hamilton, he who loves his looks will no doubt leap out of his car & ....'take the knee', that is after yack yacking about Black Lives Matter at every blasted opportunity before during & after the week-end. I'll avoid all the prattle prior which will of course include BLM references & just watch the practice & the start of the race, always the best parts. I fully expect to doze off if becomes a procession with commentators desperately filling the blank gaps with waffle.

I started this thread... And I'm sad at how it's ended up. We seem to have posters trying to outdo one another for who can be 'the least racist and most aware' by picking holes in one another's posts to the most ludicrous degree.

I very nearly reported my own OP for removal, but I hesitated because honestly, what is a mod supposed to do with that request? Deletion of such threads these days is seen as sweeping an issue under the rug...

This thread must continue... But I'd love it if people could be a little more reasonable and balanced in their exchanges. A person that disagrees with you is most likely welcoming a debate, not starting a fight or questioning your virtuousness..

I wouldn’t bother. Faa77 appears to be another in a long line of ignorant minds on PH. They don’t get the depths or nuances of this subject. More to the point; they don’t want to. Strange thing is; it’s these types that end up the most snowflakery of all; rants and raves galore!
I get everything, whether I care about it or not is another matter.

But don’t you see... you seem to care enough to get your knickers in a twist; over and over. And over... again.

If you can teach somebody how to posess a burning desire I would very much like to see that.

A burning desire comes from within.
From being white?
???

A burning desire for a particular career
Yeah. But if it's intrinsic and not learnt, why would white kids have it and not black kids?
Presumably for the same reasons we rarely see any black Olympic swimmers.

Mother Nature at work ?
hehe peak PH right here!

Actually I was implying I "don't care"......... what % of employees are XYZ.... rolleyes

My knickers in a twist? Not at all. Actually I find it funny people like yourself genuinely don't understand why certain groups are under-represented in particular fields............

Your conclusion: There MUST be discrimination in the recruitment process!!!!!

I am genuinely curious - given the fact that the whole of Britain - all four countries- was involved at D Day ( as well as scores more in the Allies )why not a Union Jack , if you feel the need to wave any flag at all? I never saw the St George's flag except on the saint's day until the last decade- why is it now the flag of choice for so many ? Am i unusual for feeling much more British than English?

The simple point that Hamilton is highly selective when soap boxing about injustices. No mention of the attrocities of 80 years ago on his paymasters doorstep, and that anti-semitism still hangs today, even at political level.

BTW going on a protest march for equality, with your nanny and bodyguard in tow, doesn't quite cut it hehe

We have opposing views on his conduct away from the track. I accept that smile
Why should he comment on Daimler's past history, given that Daimler have already accepted it, apologised and made reparations.
Why shouldn't he comment on Daimler's track record ?

Numerous institutions have also since apologised for slavery.

As mixed race you'd think Lewis would comment for the injustices of all races.
Even if he said "I'm happy to drive for Mercedes despite their history in WW2 because they've acknowledged it and helped fund a foundation to help affected forced labourers" , some posters would still complain. Even those who are happy to spend money purchasing Mercedes products.

He's been directly affected by racism based on his black heritage (Spanish monkey fans is the most well known one), so he's commenting on that - seems reasonable.

.
Racist jibes in a late night barber shop in Brixton is slightly more intense, when you're a white person wink

The black looks incredible. Lewis’ new helmet design tops it off.

Looks like they’re gonna destroy the field again too...

Why is it wrong to want to feel English? If that was a Welsh, Scottish or Northern Irish flag flying over the car, you wouldn't think twice about it, and I would guess you would not be asking its owner why they were not flying a Union Jack. So why is it so wrong to fly an English flag?

No snipes. Except when pointing out the more naive and mentally challenged amongst us. You two make for prime examples.

If you two had your knickers in such a twist; today must have sent you through the roof! ...although I’m sure you’ll claim otherwise wink

Much of what you say has already been said by Abbott and Corbyn.
