Morning all...

Considering doing Monaco next year and as there may be a big birthday involved am considering doing it a little better than GA on the hillside.

One company has popped up offering a reasonable deal it seems. Basically it's £1700 quid per person - 4 nights in a hotel in Nice, harbourside yacht access on the friday morning, apartment with balcony for Saturday qualifying overlooking Ste Devote

Grandstand tickets on the Sunday harbourside. & yacht access after the race for a couple of hours.

They appear to be linked to this company https://berkeleyred.com/

Does it seems like a reasonable deal - from what I can see the grandstand tickets are c£500 on their own.

Anyone any experience of the company in question?

Or can anyone suggest something similar with a similar price?

Cheers

Unclear from the info I have at the moment but it looks like that's a make your own way or an 'upgrade' option.

I'd check that out. Boat/helicopter which are generally not as expensive as you would think if book at certain times, probably not going to be within the £1700 quote you have during GP week though, the demand must be insane.

Likewise, my one experience of the bus/coach on the first trip was a pain - you have an awful lot of time to stare at the pretty scenery at least... and even more time to stare at the inside of the tunnels! Having not attended a GP there myself, it may be that there is no option, the alternatives are probably insanely expensive - but it's worth checking it out, just to avoid a long two way transfer in/out each day.

Pay on your credit card, so that you are protected in case they do not survive Corona. Tour operators and airlines etc. are in a big mess. Check that there will be a flight to Nice next year as every airline seems to be threatening to pull out of every UK airport on a daily basis at the moment!

Train is the easiest option from Nice to Monaco and you still get most of the scenary. A coach will be slow. No chance of helicopter or boat transfers. Helicopters will all be over-subcribed, as will the harbour for moored boats, let alone transfers. If you do find a boat transfer, it won't be to Port Hercules where you are expecting, but to Fontvieille, and you then have to get from there to your hospitality.

Scooter is king, especially on race weekends.
Although I would regularly see DC buzzing around in his Smart smile

I have been to the Historic event twice. I bought tickets from the official website acm.mc but they aren't available yet.

When they are available you should be able to access the view from each grandstand to help with your choice. I chose Tabac K1 or K2.

We stayed in Cap d'Ail (but the same applies to all stations along the coast) and got the train in, only a few minutes, very packed, but easy access from station to grandstand.
