Id love Bundle to turn to him and say, why don't you shut the F*** up, of course its never going to happen, maybe his last appearance, wishful thinking

At the moment it is.. ‘and it’s lights out and away we go’ that is really grating on me.

Every single bloody time. Even when he messed up the other week and had to blurt it out x3 as fast in order to say it.
Ben Edwars says it too, but not nearly as annoyingly.

The only one that ever pissed me off was Martin Brundle's "Look, but never stare" throughout 2011.

Partial thread drift but Pinkers showed we don't need Simon Lazenby back.
I thought the opposite tbh, every time I saw her do a link she either didn't know who she was going to or where they were. Kept having to read from her notes and seemed like she was out of her depth. Maybe she'll improve if she got the gig.

They are interchangeable IMHO.
They trigger off a discussion, stay out of it as much as possible and call time when the director says so. That’s it.
Both know their way around the sport having attended more GPs than any of us.
I don’t have a problem with either of them.

Best commentary pair there has been, imagine if that wker Croft was commentating for this you'd have no ear drums left and he probably would have said it was Button and Rosberg fighting for the place.

Watching the Indy 500, seems to be much more going on than F1 but no shouting

I think I heard him slightly break today. hehe

He mentioned the fact that the top 3 hadn’t changed from the start at least twice. He wished the rain would come ....
It’s a tough season for the big lad.

Plus he kept getting the gap times wrong. Supposedly the commentary box timings are behind the ones we see on screen. Bloody annoying when he yells "Bottas is catching Lewis" just as the timings show Lewis with fastest lap and the gap INCREASING. Perhaps he should watch his own show. Might make him think about pausing for breath now and again and turning the volume down!

He missed the bit in commentating for Dummies that suggest the order should be.
Think, pause, open mouth.

His version is:-
Open mouth, insert foot

This. I said it on the main gp thread; he needs to just watch the sky coverage and commentate on that. There is enough information on the sky feed to do a better job than he is currently doing using all of his available screens. I believe a big chunk of his failings are due to cognitive load - simply too many screens in front of him.

Multiple times in first few laps couldn't even grasp that cars had been overtaken up Kemmel, claiming the newly-overtaken car was closing on the car now in front. Watching the timing screens would have shown this - so not paying attention to those either.

Misses the real interest and tries to drum up faux excitement in the wrong thing.

edit: oh, and completely missed Norris OVERTAKING Stroll, gaining a place, to then claim Stroll was closing him down, just becasue the tv coverage showed the end of the overtake, with Stroll just behind. Moron.

At one point he mentioned Bottas was getting into the DRS zone behind Hamilton, quickly followed by an exasperated Brundle trying not to sound completely withering when pointing out DRS had not been re-activated after the safety car period yet.

Yes I nearly fell off the sofa when he said that. What a moron! Brundle must have to bite his tongue so many times during Crofty's commentary!

Does crofty have family in Australia?

We were watching the v8 supercars and the commentator said two cars fighting for position at 200kph had a "combined speed of 400kph"
