That's about 20,000 very frustrated people then..
I guess anyone buying tickets for sporting events this year must have been aware there was a high risk of this happening. Hopefully they can get their money back, at least. TheDeuce said:

I'm in Bancada Sul (south bench) so I 'should' be ok.

You should be fine, they've made the announcement now so can't see them backtracking. Glad your trip has worked out!!All systems GO!
It has all the makings of an interesting race too. Always tends to when the teams arrive not knowing very much about the circuit..
The restrictions were on the cards.
Just as a reminder for anyone locked out - the Portimao Motorsport Village is your alternative viewing area. Situated on the harbourside in Portimao there will be displays, simulators , music and live streaming of the race.
The village looked very skeletal and sad today but we have had a day of torrential rain, gale force winds and flash flooding...

Are they setting all that stuff up even with the covid concerns? Thinking people gathering in one area to watch on the screens... They might as well be gathered in GA areas at the circuit.Just as a reminder for anyone locked out - the Portimao Motorsport Village is your alternative viewing area. Not that any of the above would worry me if I were there. I'd relax and watch
So Racing Point play their ace card and entirely copy the 2019 Mercedes.
An irate Lawrence Stroll produces a video statement like a dictator in some dodgy regime aggressively defending their annexation of Mercedes I.P.
Then if you were being charitable you'd say they failed to capitalize on the performance of that car which was always going to be at it's best at the beginning of the season.
They made costly strategy mistakes which compromised Perez in at least two races
They have Stroll overheat in the pit lane ruling him out of a race
Meanwhile they confirm their driver lineup for 2021, which comprises the lesser of their two existing drivers, and Vettel- no doubt signed at great expense despite his extended drought in form. All of this while Hulkenberg and Perez are right under their noses.
Then the team suffers the acrimony of being not only the first team to have a driver go down with Covid, but try to play the system to get their post-covid driver back in earlier than laws permit attracting the ire of other teams
Now it emerges that the second driver has had it too.
They still remain the only team to have a driver go down with Covid to date.
What happened to the resourceful, likeable team that capitalized on every opportunity and punched regularly above their weight?

It could well be that they have some one in the team who displays no symptoms, has a negative test each time, and is spreading the virus unwittingly..
Who is also within the driver's bubbles...We're looking at you Lawrence
Just in case it causes any confusion, the session times in the original post are a little bit wrong.
There is no time different between us and Portugal.
P1 and P2 show the same times (local and UK), but the other sessions show as a 1 hour time difference for some reason.
Thought I’d mention it in case somebody looks at P1, thinks “oh, both times are the same” and then doesn’t notice the error on the race time.

Presumably because our clocks go back on Sunday, but not those in Portugal. There is no time different between us and Portugal.

Ah, so they do. Hadn’t realised that was this weekend. Good job you said, I’d have been in a right muddle on Sunday!
I hadn't realised either until you made me look P3 and Qualifying should be the same time regardless, as that’s on Saturday.
And Google suggests that Portugal puts their clocks back an hour on Sunday night too.

Ferry arrived in Caen at 7.15 this morning French time, and after a full day stretching the Mustangs legs, I’m in Burgos in northern Spain. 1050km covered, 950km to get to the villa tomorrow. Should be there for late lunch!
That's good going. Will be going up to the track tomorrow to organise parking, and get a programme etc
