Last week had to drop my daughter off at school and pick her up, which meant driving past the Ferrari dealer here in Auckland. Having checked out the cars as I was going past I’ve concluded that the current range is...well...ugly. They might be great to drive but aesthetically they do nothing for me: gopping mouths, strange proportions and sharp lines.

To my eyes the last properly nice looking ferrari was the 355
More or less with you on that. I don't find the 360 offensive but it's not pretty like the 355. I think the 456 is a good looking car though and the 550 is nicely proportioned but I don't like a few details. The 458 seems like a pretty car covered in overly fussy details (like most cars now). Most other recent stuff I just don't like. For all that Ferraris have always been a bit show offy, there has normally been a certain elegance to them and I don't really see that now. Gad-Westy said:

Actually yes, the 456 is pretty, and following that thought the 612 scaglietti. I have seen a few re runs of wayne carini chasing classic cars recently and the 60’s ferraris he spends a lot of time flogging are properly pretty
I spent half an hour looking at a 488 and a Gallardo right next to it while waiting for the dealer to get some paperwork done.
The 488 design looked fat, incoherent, busy, swelling in all directions. The Gallardo looked clean, resolved, purposeful, even elegant, if in a 3-D printer toy car sort of way. And its steering wheel didn't look like a Christmas tree. Not a single button on it.

I tend to agree - Ferraris of the modern age a certainly For the most part are no longer elegant imo and it seems like with every generation the details are getting more and more fussy (great exmple IMO what were they thinking when designing the 812 front lights with that kink at the bottom and all those creases/lines in the bodywork).
Do like the 612, thought it was horrible when launched but looks better with every passing year (so there is still hope for the new ones ...)
I do quite like the design of the F12 and would pick one over the 812 (it is not like it is short on power)
I do think the 355 and the 360 CS were the last nice looking V8 cars (the 458 is quite nice, but again not sure why the light cluster needs to be so elongated)
Friend saw this parked up in the wild yesterday - not seen a pic of it outside of a studio yet
