my GT4 arrives soon. It comes with Dunlop Sport Maxx Race on. Anyone know what these are like in the wet and cold weather?
I'm hoping that they are the better than the Cup2s for the winter and hence will save me changing them?

Thanks for any first hand feedback.

Race Maxx 2s are wet rated C
The latest Cup2 N1s are wet rated E
PS4S N0s are wet rated B, non-N rated are A

Based on that, they're inbetween the two Michelin options. They're still a bit slick for me on the outside edge for wet or winter use:

Compared to PS4Ss:

thanks Twinfan. I may stick with these for a bit then and see how they perform in the cold / wet.

I’m doing the winter on my cup 2’s using the GT3 as a daily - hoping if inputs are measured and respectful I’ll be fine smile

Good/OK in the wet and cold .... went through the Biggest downpour on the way to racing at Classic Le Mans ......... no issues at un abated pace . On track new to bleed off a bit more ....last longer . Cup2 faster on the first cycle , then little difference ....just my opinion .
Prefer their slicks as well as last longer and am a bit tight

Thanks, may have saved me a chunk of money having to change tyres on a new car!

The good thing about the GT3 is your getting heat put into the rears from the engine, just the usual 1 and 2 degrees and standing water to be mindful of. Ran mine from November right through with no probs on the Cups.

Good to know - interestingly I just had the Geo done at Center Gravity - car feels far more stable now - I’d had it set up too aggressively for the road previously - it’s now stock at the rear, with a bit more toe and camber at the front (plus spacers) and it feels so much more settled to me. They also played around with the arb settings - front and rear; after each change I tested it. We ended up leavening the front and rear in the stock central position. However, I couldn’t believe the difference it made to the car when adjusted - in the soft setting (a move of a cm or so on the arb) it felt like a completely differed car - more like a stock 911 - I was absolutely amazed that such a tiny change could make such a huge difference. smile

Maybe I have this wrong then - I’m sure that’s what they said they did - maybe it was add spaces, add camber from factory setting , adjusted toe ? Sorry if I misunderstood - feels great though smile

Normally less toe and I think now by spacers you mean lca shims.
Yes going away from oem is great on these cars.

Here’s the before and after settings incase it helps - toe adjustment looks tiny to me (but again I’m not sure how sensitive this is)

Truth is I try and explain what I want the car to feel like and they have a go at creating this, they then let me drive it and adjust accordingly- I have to say I’m really not technical, but I’m really clear in my head about how I want a car to feel, but I can’t explain it well; they are brilliant and very patient and this approach works really well.

Its getting things done to suit your driving style which is the most important, haven't seen the need to alter the settings for our roads here as it suits it perfectly with even tyre wear across the tread.

Anyone know what the tread depth is new on the N1 Cups, quite amazed at how well they are wearing.
