Andy Neate out-qualified by BTCC rookie, Jessica Hawkins.

Let's hope he's learned his Silverstone lessons.

I hope the only lesson Neate has learned from Silverstone is how fans and some members of the media behave when there is a woman in the race. He did nothing in those races that hasn't been done a hundred times before by other drivers without comment and there was an identical move to the one he pulled which saw him in the wall in the same race but that one was called great racing by Harvey. Someone more experienced than Edwards would have kept control of the car in both instances and they probably wouldn't even have shown them on TV.

Yes I agree Neate should really hang up his BTCC boots as he is not performing at the level of the car by a long way but the witch hunt over the Edwards clashes has gone way too far.

I disagree - if it takes media attention (for any reason) to highlight shoddy and careless driving that damages other driver's and team's finances (especially critical at the end of grid Neate races) and chances of completing a whole season, than I'm all for it.

There's no witch hunt from me - just an observation that Hawkins has out performed him (as the second one-race-meeting-only-rookie to do so, gender irrelevant). He needs to learn to accept the fact that he's not a very good driver and stop

BTCC needs to remove it's bumper-car, bounce-to-pass image at the back end (& the front) - I'm not one of those fans who only watches / goes to see crashes - I suspect many do.

Clever move by Motorbase - force him to make a pitlane start so he's well behind the rest of the pack. Makes it far harder for him to drive into anyone else again.

If that was the case then why there was no action taken by the stewards? Both incidents were normal racing incidents that we see all the time in the BTCC but because of the media attention Neate was hung out to dry.

That's different to whether Neate should be there or not. I'm talking about the two incidents at Silverstone only and the reaction to them.

laughlaughlaugh That's actually a pretty good point. A pretty dull race another superb performance by turks showing the field exactly why he is so good at getting championships Sutton really needs to take some hints from him.
The Hondas look all out of sync this meeting only cammish in the top 10 for the fk8 civic and hill showing just how good that fk2 still is.
The standings are tightening up again brands hatch is going to be a mega meeting if we get 4 or 5 cars all within 20/30 points of each other.
