Round 14 and Turkey, one of Tilke’s better efforts. Plans for 100,000 spectators to attend have been shelved, thankfully, so it’s another behind-closed-doors race. The circuit runs anti clockwise, which is unusual.

Kimi won the 1st Turkish GP in 2005! Presumably in 2020, Lewis will win from Bottas and Verstappen once again.

Look out for the earlier start times.

Here’s Vettel’s lovely 2011 pole lap: https://youtu.be/c7lFZD6pN2E

I think Bottas has to outscore Hamilton by 8 points to stop him winning the WDC. He's currently 85 points behind & the last three races have a maximum score of 78 points so Bottas needs to get to within 77 points to be able to stop him.

Then he just needs Hamilton to DNF three times while he takes three wins & gets 3 fastest laps. I've got more chance of a dirty weekend with a Victoria's Secret model than Bottas has of winning the WDC.

Yet another great circuit this season! Looking forward to it.

This is the circuit where Seb got his first ever penalty too. Managed that within 10 seconds of his F1 career starting!

Very much looking forward to seeing F1 race here after almost a decade away.

I never get the wet knickers for this track. Another soulless Tilkedrome in some despot’s back yard.

Turn 8 will presumably be flat in these monsters, might get some surprising results as the best strategists in the world yet again fail to spot the obvious as it isn’t a clockwise straight 90 left/right.

Lewis has had 10 (yes ten, notably 2 while leading races in 2010...) mechanical DNF since arriving in 2007, and has had one in the last 78 (ish) races.

I’d say you’ve got more chance of the dirty weekend biglaugh

Easy flat, 300kph + exit speed, might even see a few up shifts from the front runners..

I am not sure why you're thankful. The fans should be at GPs.

Nonetheless, thanks for kicking off the thread.

Ok... Its the 'least st' tilke circuit wink

And for sure it won't be anything like the cars in 2011 now. But that makes it unknown territory which so far this crazy season has made for decent viewing.

Turn one could be fun.

Thanks for the info.

I know the race is early in day UK time, but I don’t understand why the C4 highlights have to be shown early as well.

Turkey has 400K CV19 cases (with cases rising rapidly) and 11K deaths, so a plan to get 100K people together didn't seem all that smart to me, apologies if you disagree

I think they're permitted to show then x hours after the race. Why does it matter when you can watch them on 4od whenever?

It doesn’t really matter but previously when I have missed the start of the race on C4 I found the 4OD catchup wasn't available until much later. I don’t want to sit down at 17.30 to watch it, find it has already started and then have to wait a few hours until catch up is available.
Previous race highlights have been shown at about the same time in the day, I thought they might have kept the times consistent (as they are only highlights).
No big deal, glad these threads keep me informed. thumbup

For what it’s worth (and not intending to argue), but I think there’s a ‘restart this program’ on the live streaming options. So you can switch back to the beginning and watch all the way through.

I've been paying less attention this year....can Hamilton secure the championship this weekend?

Yes. Bottas needs to outscore him by 8 points to take it to the next round. No-one else is in contention, with MV now a distant 3rd.
