On second watch, it looked a lot like Mazespin’s race spin was a bit of a red mist incident because he had passed Schumacher off the start but he made a mistake between turn 1 and 2 and was re-passed by his team mate as he exited 3. In desperation he went full throttle and dropped it.

‘Red mist’ sums up a lot of his F2 campaign also.

They can drive, neither are slouches but the car is a dog.

Sure they are better drivers than your average.

But both only have those seats because financially the team needed them to sit there to survive the year. They are not there for their driving talent, they are just income. (Which is fine and how it's always been for small teams).

Schumacher is there too soon, but getting a years experience sitting in a F1 car shouldn't hurt. Mazepin...well...he needs daddy to stay rich.

Where would Mick go if not to F1? As he is the F2 champion he can no longer compete in that series.

Yes I think he's the sort of fool to block a car lapping him. Same as Ocon did to Max one time - and the solution was fairly simple, Max went and punched him off the weighing scales after the race.

We live in a capitalist society so we can't really complain when a rich bloke slings his son an F1 drive.. but we can certainly judge the lucky recipient if they can't be respectful of those that worked somewhat harder for it. Any sign of arrogance from mazepin will not go down at all well..

Mazepin's father might have donated 20m for his son to drive in F1 which might sound like a good deal.

Unfortunately, if the first race is anything to go by it will not be long before that 20M is spent on fixing his car.

But it was Ocon that tried to un lap himself and Max that tried to block him.. so you got the whole basis of your post wrong hardly pedantry to call you out.

Yep it didn’t escape my attention that Mick Schumacher dropped the rear of his car on throttle in much the same way later in the race but for some reason I am not inclined to be quite so critical of him.
