Watching F1 on TV
Discussion
My first season with F1TV after I finally had enough of Sky’s ridiculous price hikes and appalling customer service. I’ve got it installed on my FireStick. Watched some documentaries yesterday evening, and then Practice 1 and 2 highlights this morning. Worked perfectly. I’d love to see this be the official way to watch F1 here in the UK when the Sky deal runs out. It’s so much better. Everything on demand, easy to navigate. Brilliant!

I assume the issue is that Sky themselves chose to sub license the catch up rights to C4 which means C4 get to do the catch up show ahead of sky making it available for streaming.
Perhaps that is what has been improved now with a contract tweak.
Let's just say I'm not a Sky fan in general but have been very happy with F1TV.
Nope, nothing whatsoever to do with the C4 deal. It affects almost all their sporting coverage. It's a weird quirk with the switchover from a cloud recording (for delayed live viewing) to an on demand version.Perhaps that is what has been improved now with a contract tweak.

Can I ask, how do you use a VPN on a firestick?nordboy said:

Sign up to your chosen VPN. Then download that app and the log into it on the app on the firestick. If you've got an Amazon account you can download it via the Amazon page or search the VPN app in the apps on firestick. When you log into your VPN app you should be able to change countries to suit. Hope that makes sense.Just for an example. I done mine (Nord) via quidco and paid for it with my Amex and got a cashback via quidco and xyz percentage off via Amex.

I’m using Windscribe. Once it’s installed and you’ve signed up, you select a location, switch it on, and then press the Home button on the Firestick remote and it runs in the background. Couldn’t be easier really. You can get something like 10gb data per month free if you want to try it out. I’ve signed up to the cheapest unlimited date plan, which is picking 3 extra locations at $1 each. The only issue I’ve come across with it all so far, is that I have to Force Stop the F1TV app every time I’m done with it, or next time I try and use it I run into error messages. Not sure why. A minor inconvenience in the scheme of things.

So f**k sky it wouldn't work on the TV (just sky go)
I don't have a firestick but assume I can just download a VPN (NORD seems best), join F1 TV and stream via google chrome?
My friend tells me that you are indeed correct.I don't have a firestick but assume I can just download a VPN (NORD seems best), join F1 TV and stream via google chrome?
Nord, set to the USA (other countries are available)
Then F1tv in your browser and great quality viewing results.

I used to use Express VPN however Sky/F1TV managed to nobble it hence the switch to Nord
Cheers

Hmm...
Well, I've tried to subscribe to F1TV through Nord from both Croatia (good for most things) and also the States.
Either way, I just get a "You are accessing this service from a restricted geographic region" error.

I just subscribed for a month, but had the same issues as you initially. I am in the Philippines, went through Nord in US, and the credit card was not accepted. Well, I've tried to subscribe to F1TV through Nord from both Croatia (good for most things) and also the States.

I then used Apple Pay with a local GCash payment and was eventually accepted. Apple Pay does not disclose the payee's location as described above.
I hope this helps as initial impressions of tge service are very good, as has been said.

Then use the Vpn when you want to watch.
Glad you're in the club at last Phil, you won't look back!
The F1TV Apple TVOS app looks like it totally knocked it out of the park.

Anyone else having an issue trying to upgrade from Pro to Premium? When I go to the page, it doesn't seem to load a price but does have the upgrade button. Clicking it just brings up a spinning wheel of nothing.
Yea I get that too. I'm not that bothered about the upgrade, was just interested in the price if I wished to upgrade as I'm mid term with pro at the moment.Gassing Station | Formula 1 | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
