Just suffered through c4 coverage… never again.
So many advertisements…
Both Sky and F1 had highlights on YouTube well before the C4 coverageSo many advertisements…
I'd be interested to see their viewing figures
I'm almost thinking sky and f1tv pay C4 to make it so bad....
The 1 hour preamble trying to have quirky interviews and info. Grrr just give me more racing.
Also, really hating webber these days, he seems to spout drivel considering he was a top driver.

Well, I've tried to subscribe to F1TV through Nord from both Croatia (good for most things) and also the States.
Either way, I just get a "You are accessing this service from a restricted geographic region" error.

I just subscribed for a month, but had the same issues as you initially. I am in the Philippines, went through Nord in US, and the credit card was not accepted. Well, I've tried to subscribe to F1TV through Nord from both Croatia (good for most things) and also the States.
Either way, I just get a "You are accessing this service from a restricted geographic region" error.

I then used Apple Pay with a local GCash payment and was eventually accepted. Apple Pay does not disclose the payee's location as described above.
I hope this helps as initial impressions of tge service are very good, as has been said.
Then use the Vpn when you want to watch.
Glad you're in the club at last Phil, you won't look back!
Been great so far!

Although working in the film industry doesn't really qualify me as an expert in how to watch F1 or how to use a VPN

Thanks to everyone that contributed their tips for getting F1TV up and running, I finally ‘pulled the trigger’ on Friday and we watched our first race weekend without any issues at all. Didn’t spend much time shopping around for the lowest regional price as very happy with an annual cost of around £95 all in with NordVPN.

As a follow up to that question from WestyCarl, is there an F1 app on smart TVs or do you need to mirror from your phone/tablet?
The F1tv app can be found on smart TVs, but unless you have an Android OS TV that can run a VPN client (or you have your main net connection / a secondary router) configured for the VPN it won't work.I looked at doing it this way, but it was just too much hassle, so I now have a spare PC linked to my TV and I do the whole thing through that.
It worked faultlessly throughout the whole weekend, though I did miss sky's after-race analysis and interviews on the Sunday. (F1tv coverage ends a few minutes after the podium)

Good to know, thanks. I'll watch for that this weekend.
Yes, there’s a “Pre-Race Show” and a “Post-Race Show” on F1TV, that are both of a similar format to the Sky production, each around an hour long. If you go into the race event on the F1TV menu from Australia you’ll see them there.

Sorry for the stupid question, just signing up for Nord and have the option of a dedicated IP, is this necessary or if I don't have it will F1TV identify I'm using a VPN?
You dont need a dedicated IP, (I dont have one and it works fine), So it's a small premium to not have the hassle of jumping between different VPN locations if one does get identified and blocked.

There I was waiting for you coach. What a let down!
BTW, I do not watch a lot of TV and as a result my TV is ancient. With no smart TV you can run a cable (HDMI?) from a laptop, if anyone has a similar situation. The cable is a great talking point when the missis trips over it btw...
And yes, I still double declutch, play vinyl and have a valve amp. Old skool 2025!!

I do that, although I have an HDMI to USB C adaptor on the end to plug it into my laptop. It just sits next to the TV once I've set it up and I use a wireless mouse from the sofa if I need to pause it. And yes, I still double declutch, play vinyl and have a valve amp. Old skool 2025!!

Mostly tbh I watch on my laptop or phone if I'm travelling. Normally on split screen on my phone so I can still partake in forum arguments about what we're watching
