Sounds like Sky have sent F1 their list of VPN providers’ IP addresses, and a not-very-polite letter from their lawyer to do something about it.
Tbf a massive piss take by F1, as if they didn't know they were doing the bare minimum and must have had tens of thousands of subscribers outside of permitted regions..Anyway, time for a dedicated IP VPN me thinks. I don't see how that can be picked up unless I'm missing something..?
Something like Smart DNS Proxy Servers etc, they have a 14 day trial period, so might give it a go this weekend.

It could be that I tried to log in and my old known about VPN IP was detected and the account is denied pro access for a period - I had that problem once when I logged in forgetting to start the VPN service first..
I'll wait it out and see if it unlocks. Part of my is wondering if there is more to this than a list of known VPN IP's as the lock out seems blanket effective which is unusual.

I just took a free cancellation trial on cyberghostvpn, chose a unique dedicated IP in France and oddly it's still not working - not sure how they can detect a totally original IP as being from a VPN??

Are you on a mobile app, and does the app request or have access to location services? Try deleting the app, download it again but don’t open it, set up your connection, then open the app and log in.
Or try on a web browser instead.

Yes just tried to watch Hungary replay using Nord, and can confirm it now doesnt work, saying Geo-blocked.
Looking on Reddit, apparently the Nord team are aware of it and are working on a fix. No estimate of time though!

I tried on a fresh browser never before used for F1TV, double checked my IP was detected as the correct dedicated one (in France, where F1TV Pro is viewable) and it still picks it up somehow.

I used Nord on an Android tablet, started the VPN and set country to USA, then dowloaded the F1TV app, logged in and started the Hungary race replay.Tried now on three browsers across two computers

They probably have a list of the Nord IP addresses, but how well they can maintain that list is a different question. Maybe I got lucky and hit an IP address they don't know about

If you open Nord VPN and use the quick connect (USA) which is what i have done 99% of the time. If you do that now and try to open up a race it doesnt work... you get the Geo-Locate warning etc.
However...Instead of quick connect, i zoomed in over USA, and chose the Dallas server on the West coast... connected to it, and opened the F1TV app and clicked on the Hungary race and it started playing..
So i guess the workaround is finding the servers that are not blocked as mentioned.
Hope this helps... and we can all enjoy a race to watch this weekend.

Delete cookies, reload VPN.. don’t visit sky/f1 sites on normal.
It's more than that, I used a clean browser, a totally unique and dedicated IP in France and fresh login, having checked the VPN was active and that 'whats my IP' identified it correctly.Still digging, trying to see if I can reveal the source of my dedicated IP publicly... They're managing that somehow.

DNS leak, within seconds anyone can see that behind the local DNS stands my actual DNS provider
It's fairly clear to see which country I'm actually in.. Fail.
Nearly every single advert is BUY A VPN!!!! PROTECT YOUR CYBER SELF!!! You can watch Netflix Australia while in the UK!!! YOU MUST USE A VPN!!!!
F1 are now, nope go chuff off. We need to spy on you and target you with our adverts.
It's a joke and they shouldn't be allowed to tell people they aren't able to use a VPN to watch their stream.

The problem starts with Sky rather than F1. They have paid a lot of money (rumours of £250m a year) for an exclusive, and they expect F1 to use technological measures to maintain their monopoly. F1 are now, nope go chuff off. We need to spy on you and target you with our adverts.
