Ok mine is working again. I used my normal IP app but selected an area within USA. Then was able to play as normal

Yes just tried to watch Hungary replay using Nord, and can confirm it now doesnt work, saying Geo-blocked.
Looking on Reddit, apparently the Nord team are aware of it and are working on a fix. No estimate of time though!
It's working for me using Nord?
Not for me frown
Nord working fine for me too, although I’m not in the UK right now which might make things different? But turned on and set to Romania loads up fine for me.

Nord is working fine, I have a dedicated IP with them now and have double checked the real IP and location of my ISP is not detectable (as it was via cyberghostvpn..)

For those wondering - paying a little extra for a dedicated IP address via your VPN provider means the IP address is for you only, as opposed to sharing the same IP with several (often hundreds) of other users. That is how those IP addresses end up on the block list for streaming services quite often.

Now F1TV are updating and monitoring such lists, the chances of any/all locations on a particular VPN provider being picked up and blocked without notice is far higher - as this thread demonstrates. Some users have found working locations with IP's that have skipped detection thus far, but that could change anytime. I'd recommend a dedicated IP for F1TV from this point onwards.

Very happy to recommend NordVPN specifically based on my experience so far.

Useful and makes sense even for a low level techie like me

Unfortunately Ive just renewed Express VPN for a year - Ive had it for ages and F1TV was an added extra bonus - however F1TV renews tomorrow so at least Ive saved myself some cash there

It was nice whilst it lasted and as has been said repeatedly Im not paying SKY ££££££ for the service they offer

I'll keep tabs on the thread just in case things change, I cant see many VPNs offering a dedicated IP besides Nord and Express specifically dont. With the benefit of some thought getting rid of Captchas would be something Id pay extra for as would the niggles with some online retailers I use

Cheers

Thanks for the info.

I just tried view FP1 in a my car at work and the live stuff is gone.

Will try doing the IP thing when I get home later.

I'm never going back to Sky. It's either sorting this out or looking into ARRRRRHHH methods. It's bullst that the whole F1TV production is made in the UK yet we are not allowed the option to even watch it.

And after making noises about rolling F1 TV out once the end of being hamstrung by contracts pre-Liberty, what did they do? Signed a new exclusive contract with Sky until 2029.

I think the issue is specifically because Sky are UK based, they are very imbedded in the F1 circus and have various contractions with F1 for content etc.

Ok so I tried yesterday via my normal route and no luck.

Today I'm away from my home location of Canada, so Incognito mode on Chrome for the F1 TV website and a static IP address in the US via Surf Shark. Let me in to watch FP1 just now.

Without reading through the whole thread…

Apologies for the type of question, but can I access Sky Go on holiday for the race if I install a free VPN?

Will be using an iPad likely, or iPhone if I can’t get it to work.

I’m not signed up to F1 TV this year.
Just an update to say it really is this simple.

So that's another £4 a month on top of the £6 for F1TV Pro. I think that's pushing my limit.

I just tested my account using Nord set to a random city in the US it is still working OK for me, on iPhone and Chromecast with Google TV.

This is all getting silly now, if it stops working then I will resort to the free highlights.

Given the quality of the F1TV offering i think it's pretty good value still - and the VPN is extremely useful for streaming overseas content etc in general.

I think it's still cheaper than any other legitimate way to watch.

Hmmm. Mine's stopped. Was with Express VPN. Error message: "you are accessing this service from a restricted geographic region". Tried a few Europe and US.

From Express VPN

I understand that you are having problems accessing F1TV while connected to the VPN.

I just want to let you know that we’re receiving similar complaints about customers not being able to access F1TV Pro while connected to the VPN.

At this point, we aren’t sure if the issue is more widespread or limited to some customers only. This has been escalated to the appropriate team and are currently looking into it.

I cannot give you an estimated time on how long would it take for the issue to be resolved but you can be assured that is that this will be fixed as soon as possible for you to continue accessing F1TV with the VPN.

If they don’t fix it I want my subs back!
Btw, how do you get your own IP address if that is what was mentioned as a fix?

I tell a lie. I was connected via Static IP rather than Dedicated IP (app hadn't updated in time). I'm now streaming qually from my dedicated IP address in the netherlands

They can't fix it, not permanently - not now F1TV are logging and banning suspect IP addresses. Get your money back if you can.

Go to Nord VPN and buy the cheapest subscription - cheaper the longer you sign up for.. Then as you click continue/next you get the opportunity to add on a dedicated IP, the rest is all pretty straight forward and explained well by Nord.

Once you've paid and are on board you can choose which country your dedicated IP is based in - choose one where F1TV pro is allowed, I chose Netherlands and I'm watching Q3 right now smile

good to hear. The dedicated IP address won't appear on any ban lists - job jobbed.

If you do go with NordVPN there are codes all over place for 65% off - but that applies to the base subscription only, not the Dedicated IP add-on.

Yeah I managed to get a 2 year sub down to £124 trying a load of codes, incl dedicated IP. I'm happy with £5 a month - very happy in fact!
