Release date has been confirmed for 19th March. It should be a good one just for the Vettel/Ferrari situation. Small teaser has been released today, trailer should be in the next week or so.

Looking forward to this.

So many stories from last year that we need to see behind the scenes.

Saw the teaser earlier. Other than the date it doesn't really tease anything at all though.

I think a major storylines will be:

- covid (obviously)
- various disputes surrounding Racing Point
- The sale of Williams
- Ferrari's tragic year (great from a TV producers pov as it's blatantly obvious they bought it on themselves)
- The drama of new circuits dragged in to the calendar
- Lewis's battle against racism and Lewis in general, ending with his equalling of MS record
- Grosjean nearly dying live on TV...

I'm sure there will be some focus on Seb being kicked from Ferrari - but I doubt it'll be a major theme. It wasn't actually a major theme during last season, other than at the very start before covid flipped pretty much everything on it's head. That said, there will probably be an episode that focuses on the driver market (as previously) and that's bound to zero on on Seb, who's leaving announcement did kick start silly season extremely early last season.

They tend to focus on themes per episode, rather than a chronological review of the season (thank heavens)

I expect themes to be

Covid
Vettel's exit from Ferrari and prolonged union with Aston Martin
Perez's near-exit from the sport to race win and Red Bull 2021 drive at Albon's expense.
Hamilton - equality campaigning, beating and equalling Schumacher's records
Grosjean's crash
George Russell in Sakhir (possibly combined with the Perez story)
Gasly in Monza

Think you are right. In addition I'd expect them to make a feature of Ricciardo's podiums as they seem to give him a lot of airtime. Let's see if they give him a chance to drop another See You Next Tuesday biglaugh

This series has become a much appreciated part of each new season for me. Perfectly fills the gap between pre-season testing this season, and the first race weekend smile

The programme that finally got my missus interested in what I was doing on all those Sunday afternoons!

Date booked in the diary with a nice bottle of wine.

Same here. Mrs Deuce used to watch the odd GP with me but soon shut down and got distracted by 'insta'...

Since Drive To Survive she's realised there's plenty of plotting and back stabbing drama in the sport, so now she's far more interested in what happens on track smile

I think it was a move of genius to both cash in on the off track drama of F1 and at the same time use it to attract a new audience.. I'm guessing other sports will be looking at it's success and thinking "Hold on, our sport is full of two faced aholes too! Get the cameras in quick!!"

I wish I could get excited for it, but the faux drama making it like a stty yank drama ruins it for me.

Brave and bold ‘predictions’ as ever Deuce

I agree that the documentary series about the 2020 Formula 1 season will likely touch upon the key events and themes of the 2020 Formula 1 season.

Hmm, yes.. I can see my post was fairly pointless actually. But thank you for your post in response, we'd all have been lost without it wink

There's apparently a fair bit of behind the scenes stuff at the factory during the first lockdown.b

It would be great to see more about the various Project Pitlane medical projects, it was a genuine highlight of the year to see hundreds of F1 engineers turn their hands to something that could make a difference to humanity in the early stages of the pandemic.

For one example, the Mercedes engine factory reverse-engineered a CPAP device, which aids breathing, and made 10,000 of them in less than a month for hospitals in the U.K. - then open-sourced the whole project, down to the CAD files and machine tool programmes.

Thinking about signing up for Netflix for a month to watch this - anyone know if all episodes will be released immediately or on a week by week basis?

All at once. They did last year and release this year is only a week before the season starts
