Family have been to Budapest and said it was great - not far from the city either.
I havent been yet but - when they announced Zolder we planned to go for 2020 before it was cancelled , and then never got round to it subsequently. Its one ill look at seriously for 2023.
Thinking - Amsterdam/Schipol is very easy and quick to get to from most Uk airports, 30/45 minutes and dirt cheap as its so popular (KLM/Easy/Jet2/BA etc). Amsterdam itself then has tonnes of cheap accomodation and you can easily stay in town - and theres a quick train ride takes you right to the circuit everyday. I reckon you could piece meal a trip together pretty cheaply, and it looked like a mega atmosphere in 2021.

Monza is fantastic with a great atmosphere, but if you're in a car give yourself time to get in!
Hockenheim is pretty good, I watched at the start of the stadium section. The food and drinks were nice (bratwurst/beer).
Spa I've been to for the WEC several times, that gave much more time to explore the whole circuit. As has been mentioned 45 laps isn't much for your money on race day.
Out at the back at Barcelona is good (I saw motorbikes there), but the start/finish straight not so much.
I enjoyed Monza.
It’s an old circuit so has old facilities.
When I went they which was maybe 10 yrs ago now or 8 !
They had this weird food and drink system.
Wait in a long line to exchange money for food and beer tokens. Literally tokens.
Then wait in another long line to get food. Then wait in another long line to beer or water etc.
The dumbest set up ever. I really hope they still don’t do that.

We did Hungary in 2005, had a long weekend there, explored the city and did qualifying and race day. We had tickets in bronze 1 which was a good spot and had a big screen opposite
We bought tickets direct from the circuit though it looks like most of it is sold out. General admission viewing around there is pretty good though.

When we went to Spa we stayed near Maastrict and just drove down both days, the traffic was absolutely fine, especially leaving as our car park had some dirt track out the bottom of the field that short-cutted all the other roads out! Worse bit was leaving our B&B as TomTom (it was a few years ago!) tried to take us through a load of fields. Literally fields.
I think I would go somewhere else though, the point about 43 laps is very pertinent, you do see a lot less of the action. Austria looks tempting and now I think about it I have accommodation in Vienna...

I have planned to be going to Monaco this year.....I will let you know how economical that goes !
My Niece's boyfriend has a home in Monaco and his Dad has a yacht in the harbour Not been invited yet
Hints aren't working
This always works in films so I can only presume it works in real life too.

I’ve priced up Monaco a couple of times. The tickets aren’t too unreasonable, and if you stay a few train stops away and take a packed lunch, you can probably get away with not spending thousands. Just don’t try and eat, drink or stay in Monaco itself! Gassing Station | Formula 1 | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
