Too many corners and eventually they tv coverage got lost around the last few laps as they seemed to show overhead shots of the spaggetti junction layout.
Im guessing its and american thing where they start summing up early.
A once a year ordeal . Vegas will make it a twice a year one.
Idiotic motorcade bit at the end left you wishing there was a local grassy knoll.

I feel like Lewis had a solid race, but George just seemed so switched on to the strategy calls whereas Lewis was fumbling and asking his engineers to tell him what to do re: Pit strategy rather than call it himself like GR did.
The two situations were completely different.

GR call was a no brainer option to discuss and then take, LH at the SC taking an extra stop or not needed a team call as they could see where that would feed him out in the pack.
Yep, it's pretty obvious to anyone who has the remotest understanding of racing what was happening. Similarly, there are those on here who think because Russell has lucked out three times this season that he's showing Hamilton up. George was destined to finish 8th or 9th until the safety car yesterday and Hamilton on for 5th. It's presumably the same people who think Max "won" in Abu Dhabi.

Brundle used to be the one voice I'd appreciate on Sky but as time has worn on he's started to fall into the jaded ex professional bracket that you see if you watch football (think Mark Lawrenson)

This year I've switched to watching F1.tv using a vpn and its a breath of fresh air. Ben Edwards and Jolyon Palmer are so much less painful than Crofty and Brundle. Strongly recommend anyone sick of Sky to do the same.
The only thing that would happen would be an "Edwards must go" thread

Edit: no need, already done.

And don't think Jolyon gets a pass either:

I quite liked the 'event' in addition to the actual race.

Just a massive shame that Ferrari aren't quite able to race the Red Bulls at the moment - well the front two cars... i.e. once Max is in front they can challenge but not get past. They need to arrive at a package where the downforce is dialled down a touch, but of course I'm sure they know that and there's possibly a reason why they haven't done that yet.

Hopefully some upgrades coming to a number of the cars for Barcelona.

I predicted Verstappen before the weekend started. It's all rather one-sided at the moment, Ferrari doesn't have an answer to the Red Bull top speed advantage, Perez is realistically seldom any threat to Verstappen, and Verstappen himself appears quite within himself given the car advantage he has, and so able to drive calmly.

3 more people this morning have voted with the power of hindsight.

John Watson this weekend was clap

Crofty just felt extra insufferable this weekend, couldn't be doing with him anymore

I thought Brundle's pit walk was the most entertaining part of the whole show this weekend. Proper car crash in places and great fun.

What made it even more enjoyable was that he knew it was going to be hard work but persevered nonetheless rofl

How can you tell? I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference from two feet away
He normally wears a rose gold Daytona 116515, which he inherited from his father. I didn’t notice his watch yesterday! hehe

He's a racing driver, racing for position. You think he should just wave George past?

No driver on the grid would do that. Apart from maybe Perez......
Very true, you probably wouldn't be in F1 without that attitude to start off with, some of the posters have clearly never seen an F1 race before (or more likely are just hating on Lewis because it's Lewis)
The "apart from Perez" and then the idea that it's people hating on Lewis is pretty fking petty and also ignores the fact that it does happen and drivers do let their team mates past when on different strategies etc. Perhaps it is you two who lack previous experience watching F1. I wish that comments on F1 didn't get reduced to this absolute playground bullst. We are on here to discuss F1 and talk about it, our opinions will differ and that's fine but we could leave the fan boy ste alone a bit
Here, take one of these twice a day, you'll feel better.

2 more voted, I wonder if they got it right?

Might be Hamilton fans hoping to change the result.

Not seen enough to make meaningful comparison between Hamilton and Russell's performance but George appears to be doing an exceptional job in all counts.
I agree.

Seems daft to try and claim George somehow has better racecraft and tactical thinking than Lewis based on one single race decision. We've seen Lewis make similar bold decisions so many times, very often with good outcomes.

Merc have two very smart drivers. They just need a slightly faster set of wheels..

I'm sure it's only Masi who changes the result. As you well know.

I'm going to confess here that I was one of them, I did it last time also. biggrin It appeals to my warped sense of humour, the fact there's an open poll as to who's going to win something 24-48 hours after the result makes me smile, in fact doing it for a second time I found funnier than the first, like a running joke, but I'm always in a weird mood on a Monday.

Carry on.
