There was one thing which did disappoint me about the venue after all the hype... I had visions of F1 cars flashing along neon soaked palm-lined boulevards but the place looked completely generic. Until I was confronted by the challenging police escort to the podium, it could've been anywhere.
The originally planned circuit would have been more to your liking, I think. As cruise ship employees, it is pretty much the route we all take from the ship to lunch and back on our Miami homeport days. The cars would have passed along an area called 'Bayside' which would have been more scenic than the stadium monstrosity we just had.HustleRussell said:

I think we were just a bit unlucky that everything went far smoother than was expected here. In future years, it may well play out entirely differently - in fact I expect most outings here it will.

I think you were right about the endless battles to get any circuit signed off, so it probably will stay there. No one's going to rush to open that can of worms and try and start fresh with a new proposal now.

I find it rather hard to warm to Verstappen as a person, but as a driver, I have been repeatedly fulsome in my praise of him this season. It's clear that there are people posting here and elsewhere who are so fundamentally distracted by viewing the world through an anti-Lewis Hamilton prism that they are unable to remain logical and reasonable. I don't respect that and I don't take their comments seriously.
It’s ok. They don’t take you seriously either jm doc said:

I’m not sure some of the people complaining about your posts even got to the level of posting something positive about Hamilton like you do with Verstappen, so you’re clearly less of a fanboy than some.
I don’t think many say anything negative about LH’s talent? Fairly obvious he’s one of the greats, where has anyone said different? It’s apparently ok to not favour MV on a personal level, but not LH…why is that? How long until the same posters complain about Max being in the dominant car, saying he wouldn’t win in the Williams and so on? That’s only about the driver, not the personality.

You’ve missed the stuff over the years about it just being the car and so on? I thought you’d been posting a bit longer, but must have got mixed up.

That’s not the question I asked. How long until the same posters complain about Max being in the dominant car, saying he wouldn’t win in the Williams and so on? That’s only about the driver, not the personality.

Paul usually follows up praise with a swift stab in the back of either Horner, RB, Marko or Max with the odd sprinkling of Jos. Rarely a paragraph passes without some character assassination or comments on driving skills.

There are a lot of people on here who are very negative about LH's talent, try reading some more threads. Some of us, me included, do not like MV's approach to racing and are negative about that, however, most of us also acknowledge that Max has a rare turn of speed and see him as one of the fastest drivers. Mostly we criticise his lack of race-craft, and, in 2021, the fact that he got away with bending/breaking the rules more than anybody else ever has.Byker28i said:

My daughters have Ferrari, RB and Haas, mostly due to available sizing more than anything.

Awesome video, and a great example of how the whole car community in Miami embraced the event. “Reluctantly, I had to tell my wife I was going back to the circuit on Saturday to drive the SP1 around a parade lap”.

John's channel is worth subscribing to, very down to earth guy and has some amazing machinery through his showroom. Interesting that so many diverse people have such a positive impression of Charles, underlines to me what a good champion he would potentially be.“Reluctantly, I had to tell my wife I was going back to the circuit on Saturday to drive the SP1 around a parade lap”.
There is no chance in 2022 of the insurance people allowing F1 drivers to take an old Ferrari out on public roads just before a GP but fair play for offering.
