Daniel Ricciardo

Lawson looked ok last race. This is what will doom his move to head office.
Max doesnt like it when someone is close to him on the track. A few non finishes and he could be chasing all season.
More likely Yuki would get the nod as he doesnt seen to pay attention some times and could be reeled in at will.
Anyway where doese this breathtaking sense of entitlement come from? Some geezer finally gets a f1 job but wants a better one instantly?
I have worked with people like this lol.

You can think what you like about Red Bull Racing but it's a fact that they are there to win, not to come second.
You don't invest billions in a race team over many seasons to accept second place so you get "more wind tunnel time" and flog more drinks in South America.
Are you sure about this? I see no sign that this is true. If it was true they would put the best possible driver in car #2. You don't invest billions in a race team over many seasons to accept second place so you get "more wind tunnel time" and flog more drinks in South America.
RB are using F1 as a marketing tool, no more, no less. Any publicity they get is great, regardless if positive or negative.
No signs? Really? The billions invested over the last 20 years in facilities, infrastructure and personnel? Hiring the greatest F1 designer of all time when the team was a fledgling?
You think that you win 6 constructor's titles by going into it half-arsed and with a mentality that second is OK as long as you're still selling fizzy drinks?
Creating a winning team by no means requires the best possible driver in the second car - that's a total fallacy. Just ask Jean Todt or even Ron Dennis.
RB are using F1 as a marketing tool, just as Mercedes are and Ferrari and all the others. But that doesn't mean they accept second place.
Horner may be many, many (very unsavoury) things, but one thing he definitely is is a very, very bad loser.
As a team, RBR is not very likeable but let's not be jaded into thinking they're not serious about this game.

From the teams perspective, they probably don't mind either - having one crap driver saves them a fortune in costs and opens up extra development time each season as they continue to target future WDC titles - the only title they or Red Bull GMBH care about.

They can solve the LATAM/Spanish market issue by hiring Colapinto.
I was only explaining the reasons why Perez makes some sense, in more of a commercial than sporting sense.Colapinto has already impressed and if he continues to do so wherever he ends up (hopefully) next year, he could well end up in a RBR/RB. But I should stress that while I believe having a Spanish speaking driver is a strong plus point, especially for RBR, it's not a pre-requisite.
The choice of driver for them also depends on what sort of driver they need at the time. Right now we're talking about a Perez replacement, but soon/very soon it could be a Max replacement that they're after..

WTF?! Yesterday’s man. There are other experienced drivers they could have signed, but no, they hired a hack (if this is true). I expect someone American to be in the team, likely Colton Herta as he's the best they've realistically got, but of the current crop of recent F1 drivers it's really Ricciardo or Bottas who fit the bill. Maybe Kevin Magnussen (who also has links to Cadillac)
Plus, whilst Ricciardo may have signed for them, we don't know in what capacity......

Danny Ric has had the dick. He’s past it. I hope he won’t be taking up a race seat at the expense of a more exciting and competitive driver. He couldn't tell you whether to soften or stiffen an anti roll bar, I'm struggling to think of an available driver who'd be worse? Who is out of contract next year?PRO5T said:

His job is to describe the car's behaviour, not tell them how to fix it. That's the engineers' job.I hope they do sign him. It will be fun to see the internet explode.
