For many years I and perhaps many thought it was a fluke win for Panis even though in the 90s I religiously read Autosport front to back. He famously said he was going to win the Monaco Grand Prix during the morning of the race. TV coverage wasn't as good. I was there. It looked odds on for Damon until his engine blew in the tunnel, a rare Renault failure. JV was nowhere that weekend so once MS and Damon were out it was very likely to be Panis or Coulthard.Byker28i said:

I remember it well, and picking up my Autosport each week (Thursday?) from the newsagent who was also an F1 fan.vaud said:
