It is a bit of a shame for Kvyat, I always kinda liked him (yes I know not as much of a shame for the orphaned children of Ukraine).
He seemed much more likeable than Marzipan.

He was an incredibly down to earth guy, a genuinely good racer but Red Bull did the Red Bull thing. Himself and Gasly would have been a great pairing at Alpha Touri.

Actually would not mind at all if Kvyat re-appeared at Williams, provided Piastri gets a seat elsewhere.

Even better if Williams improved and the Red Bull Redemption Team drivers became a thorn in the side of Alpha Tauri.

For Ferrari (given the Italian press are getting aggressive)... who is the next team principal?

Who is the next Todt/Brawn who can provide the leadership and the protection for the team?

Someone from the existing pool of F1 leaders or from outside?

Well that didn't happen, did it.

What did happen was Honda execs showed up to remind everyone that the Red Bull engine is still a Honda, Red Bull don't own the rights to it, and Honda may not yet be finished with F1 after all.

It certainly didn’t! It was reported that as well as Honda personal the Porsche big wigs turned up too.

Are Honda posturing to protect their IP from being given away?

There's been a few rumours that Honda want back in for 26 recently. It's either just a rumour or some deal needs to be done regarding Porsche's access to any info about the Honda engine if an RB/Porsche project is to happen.

You don't posture to protect IP, it's all in legal contracts.
You could if someone was trying to buy it.

Apparently the IP is leased, so it isn't RB's to sell.

Hence the posturing from Honda.

These are some of the biggest corporations on the planet. The limits of use and transferal of Honda IP will have been precisely defined. The Red Bull F1 operation is not even a Minnow by comparison. They are not going to play silly buggers with Honda and Porsche.

Porsche will be buying 50% of Red Bull Technologies and also 50% of the F1 team in a 10 year partnership.

Interesting in why it wasn’t announced in Austria as I predicted-I’m still claiming that one in that case hehe

Anti-cartel authorities don't care about press release dates. Trust me.

Personally I'd like to see Stefano Domenicalli come back and finish the job off without having to deal with the interfering Luca Di Montezemolo anymore.

Binotto is the right chararcter for Scuderia as they need a calming influence but I'm not sure if he's the right man overall. There has been a lot of dithering and the eagerness to go for batst strategies has been going for far too long under Binotto's short helm.

To be fair its the first time Binotto and CLC are having to deal with being at the front. I don't know who has final say on mid-race strategy and to give the benefit of doubt Ferrari require a new strategist.
