Williams-Audi for a year or two whilst they get things started then Audi only and Williams will join the archives.
What value is F1 to Audi when e-tron genuinely means electric rather than hybrid?
They ran hybrids for years at Le Mans with e-tron badging. What value is F1 to Audi when e-tron genuinely means electric rather than hybrid?
What value is hybrid F1 to any manufacturer when their road cars are all electric?

Not seeing it confirmed anywhere yet but its what were all thinking....F1.com said:
If McLaren do get Piastri, what will Alpine do?...
...Top of the list would be Ricciardo. The Australian did a very good job at Enstone when they ran under the Renault banner He’s still a big name despite his recent struggles and would be motivated to succeed.
Really? Am I remembering things differently to reality, not sure sure 'very good' is the correct lingo? It was his decision to leave, Abiteboul seemingly left because DRs performances was on him too.... How much of Renault F1 is still at Alpine F1 (a lot, presumably, as its actually Enstone F1 with different polo shirts..)? Would he even want to go back?...Top of the list would be Ricciardo. The Australian did a very good job at Enstone when they ran under the Renault banner He’s still a big name despite his recent struggles and would be motivated to succeed.
This is the proposed move I am not fully getting with so far....

I agree with the above post to an extent, Daniel started to come good towards the end of his time at Renault, but there was a long period of struggle there too, he also snubbed them in favour of McLaren (looked like a no brainer at the time) which I'm sure upset a lot of people at Alpine.
Even if Daniel doesn't go to Alpine, he'll probably go to Haas, taking Schumacher's seat presumably. Leaving Schumacher at Alpine? Has he shown enough for a mid level team to want him, or would they take a chance on a complete rookie?
I'd say silly season 2022 has a couple of surprises left up its sleeve before its finished.

Do Mclaren have the facility to get rid of Ricciardo if he doesn't want to go? What if 'no amount of money is enough', hypothetically speaking?
He'd have to be very pig-headed to hold his ground, and it would not be a very pleasant year if the team really don't want him there. I really think he needs to make a deal with them to leave while he has an open goal to jump back into the only other potential big money factory team drive on the grid. That opportunity won't be there for long, and once it's gone his only possible options in F1 would be with someone like Williams or Haas.HustleRussell said:

There would be clauses in the contract to cover the scenario of either party (ie Mclaren or Daniel) wanting to end the contract early. Should he not want to accept those conditions (likely a payout) and contest it, he could take Mclaren to court - but a court would be highly unlikely to enforce the obligations of the contract ("specific performance") and force Mclaren to give Daniel a drive and would instead award Daniel compensation by way of a payment. But that would be unlikely - the contract would almost definitely include clauses for this exact circumstance.Edited by fbc on Friday 5th August 12:52

All the other drivers in the frame for the Alpine drive are so uninspiring- Zhou, Schumacher, Drugovich... They have to go for Ricciardo surely.
The thing is, based on recent history, that decision looks more like uninspiring and cheap. Or uninspiring and expensive?Bradgate said:

They could hire Gasly. He’s French, he’s a GP winner and he has proved himself since being back at AT. Gassing Station | Formula 1 | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
